All markers, monuments, and other structures: - Must be made out of Granite - Come from an approved Headstone Company - Are set by Woodlawn Cemetery Staff Only - Must fit with in the grave space (Single Grave Space - 36 inches wide by 10 feet long A Double Marker may be set over 2 Graves - 72 inches wide by 10 feet long) 2.) Requirements for Flat Markers including Foundations, and In Ground Granite Vases: - At least 4 inches thick, (anything thinner can be damaged by equipment) - The top surface of the stone must be polished. - It is recommended to polish any side of the stone that may show above ground. - They must be set Flush with the ground. - Bronze Plaques must be set in a Foundation 3.) Pillows, Slants, Uprights - Foundations are required - A polish on the front and back of the stone is Required, any unpolished surface must be BRP (A rough rock like finish, not sawn sides). - Minimum Thickness for uprights and larger monuments is 6” - V.A. Uprights must be set on a Foundation purchased through the cemetery and set by the cemetery 4.) Pictures on Markers - Must be of the latest technology: ceramic steel, diamond etched or carved two/tri tone 5.) Cleaning Monuments - contact Woodlawn Cemetery for cost - An Annual cleaning of your monument is recommended to keep your monument looking pristine - Re-highlighting monuments is recommended when the stone has faded - and must be done through the cemetery 6.)Cement Work (Curbing/Ring, Flat Cap or Domed Cap) - At least 4 inches thick - Must be set flush with the ground - no raised rings - Must be set with the ground - Leveling of rings is no longer permitted due to maintenance - Set by Woodlawn Cemetery Staff Only - No Designs, Tiles etc are allowed to be placed on the cement It is recommended that you place your monument on your home owners insurance policy in the case of damage, vandalism or theft. All markers sold by Woodlawn Cemetery have a lifetime warranty against natural cracks or chips that may occur in the stone. Woodlawn Cemetery has set these standards for Markers because we want to make sure the quality and presentation of the stone is the best it can be and will with stand the test of time. All setting of Markers and Cement Work is done according to when it was ordered and are weather dependent. Fees apply when Headstones are purchased outside of Woodlawn Cemetery. Woodlawn Cemetery will Meet or Beat any Competitors Prices when possible. Please refer to Washington State Law RCW 68.20.062 - The Cemetery may regulate the uniformity, class, and kind of all markers, monuments, and other structures within the cemetery and its subdivisions. *Rules and Regulations may change with out notice.
