The Hotel: Coming Soon
Friends and neighbors,
Sustainability in CP
To the great credit of our community leaders, I have been deeply
impressed with the extensive efforts of the City of College Park, the
University of Maryland, and the State Highway Administration to
address recent pedestrian safety incidents on Route 1 head
on through a series of important actions: lowering speed
limits, enhancing speeding enforcement efforts, installing fencing to
deter mid-block crossings, improving signage, and more.

As part of the Second Annual “Knock & Talks” initiative, our office,
the City of College Park, Prince George’s Police Department,
University Student Code of Conduct, Public Safety welcomed the
students and saluted the local residents while raising awareness
about the Student Code of Conduct off campus, being a good
neighbor and the “Be Smart, Be Safe” pedestrian safety campaign.
The goal of the “Knock & Talks” is to provide resources that
promote positive interactions between the city residents and their
student neighbors. This is one of the many ways that our
community is working together successfully to address the issues
that matter the most.
I would also like to thank all the University stakeholders who met
with me this summer to give valued feedback and ideas about how
our office can support their community engagement efforts and
other initiatives.
Mark your calendar with the
dates of these great upcoming
