Cónsula is a country estate
situated in the district of Churriana. It's been
named after a Prussian Consul's wife who in late
nineteenth century commissioned the
construction of this beautiful place Hemingway
used to praise.
The property has been home to the Málaga
Culinary School and its restaurant since 1991,
when the Andalusia's Regional Government and
the Málaga Town Council established the
consortium that runs it. The school's goal is to
train qualified restaurant professionals so that
they can easily access the dining labour market.
It has served as springboard for cooks and chefs
who have become famous in our province and
beyond, some of whom have already been
granted Michelin stars, like José Carlos García or
Dani García.
This restaurant in the delightful city
of Ronda is situated by the Bullring, on the edge
of the Tajo cliff, whose Puente Nuevo (New
Bridge) links the Arab part of the city with the
more modern district, one dating back to the
Middle Ages, the other to the sixteenth century.
The magnificent location affording spectacular
views and the food turn the establishment into a
must-visit
Both the warm atmosphere and the classic décor
make the restaurant move constantly from the
traditional to the modern. Del Escudero serves
the best dishes of Castilian and Andalusian
cuisine, with carefully prepared dishes and high
quality ingredients. The restaurant's best flavours
and textures can be found when savouring the
restaurant's grilled meat and fish, and of course,
its traditional desserts.
The colonial building that houses Del Escudero
features a multi-purpose room that has a seating
capacity of over 450 and is ideal for parties. It

the best restaurants in Ronda, thanks to its

restaurants form part of Lezama, a group that
comprises culinary schools and restaurants. In the
Costa del Sol, Lezama has two locations, one in the

Mesana is run by Ramón Freixa, a great chef
whose family owns the renowned El Racó d'en
Freixa, a restaurant in Barcelona which has had
a Michelin star for almost twenty years. Ramón
learnt all the secrets of the most innovative
European cuisine while working in such
prestigious restaurants as La Tuffe Noire and
Comme Chez Soi, in Belgium, or the Michel
Bras, in France. He is a young cook with a wide,
valuable experience that earned him the
following awards: Best Chef of Spain 2001, by
Gourmetour; Best Chef 2003, by Málaga Cuisine
Academy and a Michelin star, held by the
Mesana restaurant, in 2006.
The Benahavís location is the gem of this four-star

The off-road track, which is divided in two
sections, is apt for riding quads or driving the
most modern four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Moreover, there's a six-kilometre road across the
woods and around the complex which affords
breathtaking views and makes visitors feel an
incredible driving sensation.
The one-kilometre-long dirt track can be used to
drive "speed buggies" (fast vehicles with
fibreglass bodywork and safe steel cage). Its
cambers and bends of different sorts -some quite
open and fast, others closed and sharp and thus
ideal for skidding- promise a great deal of fun.
This area also doubles as a go-kart racing
section, bending into a 30-metre circular track.
The club house is an old but renovated
Andalusian estate holding a bar and surrounded

The most original service offered by Ascari is
the Race Academy, a driving school where
customers will feel free to do what they've
always dreamt about on exceptional machines:
ordinary vehicles, sports cars, single-seaters,
and F1 cars featuring cutting-edge technology
for driving performance assessment.
Instructors are experienced and highlyqualified. Ascari club members have access to
the exclusive use of tracks for two months a
year, a right they can transfer to friends,
relatives or customers for ten days.

The resort's planning and advisory staff can work
on their own or in cooperation with agencies,
organising incentive activities in the complex or
outside (for example, golf or yachting events on

The circuit, 5,245 metres in length, is the longest
in Spain. It has been painstakingly designed. Its
26 bends -different combinations of angles,
slopes and cambers- are big challenges for
riders, as they resemble those of famous world
circuits. Ascari's unique circuit can be configured

carrying out of several activities at the same time,
depending on different skill levels.

SOL RIDING SCHOOL
The Costa del Sol Riding School is
located in Estepona, near the Padrón River and
one kilometre away from the beach.
The riding school -surface area: 90,000 sq mwas created in 1998, with the aim of fostering the
love of horse riding as a sport while organising
equestrian competitions and shows. The school's
facilities are also used for cultural, social, and
corporate events.
Opened in 1979, it is still one of the main
leisure venues on the Costa del Sol. In its
large gaming rooms, guests can indulge in
American roulette, French roulette, blackjack,
five-card stud poker tables, baccarat and, of
course, slot machines of all sorts.
The Costa del Sol Riding School provides
different kinds of services in its facilities, including
an equestrian shop, a 1,200-spectator horse
exercise ring for dressage shows, competitions
and exhibitions, an external trail, a pony club, and
stables including horseboxes, shower yards,
harness storage rooms, and fodder and straw
barns. An adjacent building provides
horseshoeing, veterinary and saddlery services,
also selling horse supplies and tailor-made
leather apparel.
The casino's games include eleven American
roulettes, two French roulettes, six five-card stud
poker tables, eleven blackjack tables, a
midi-baccarat table, and over one hundred slot
machines next to the jackpot bar.
According to casino regulations in force, visitors
must access the casino with their ID cards,
passports, or driving licences, and they can't be
wearing shorts or tennis shoes.

The school also has a bar and a restaurant, El
Abrevadero, decorated in typical Andalusian
country style and owning a wedding hall for 400
guests.

In addition to technical services, all the marinas
have a leisure offer including yachting activities,

developed additional attractions, such as
shopping areas and or a bustling nightlife in
restaurants and clubs.

detailed descriptions of each marina, their

It stretches over 500,000 square metres and has
two 25-metre-wide and 1,600/1,700-metre-long
sandy tracks. It also features two jumping
courses used for dressage shows, horse jumping
competitions, and riding lessons. The main
course is 9,000 sq m, while the other one (6,000
sq m) is basically used for warming-up purposes.

Spectators going to the races can take the stands
(seating 2,500) or go to a 15,000-square-metre
area overlooking the tracks.
The Mijas Racecourse's outstanding facilities
include stables with 334 fully-equipped
horseboxes, a large paddock enclosure and
parade ring where horses are shown before and
after the races, and thirty box offices distributed in
three betting rings.

Costa del Sol Racecourse is
located in El Chaparral, an urban development in
Mijas Costa. It can be accessed from both La
Cala de Mijas and road N-340, opposite the
Fuengirola Castle. It is open all year round,
holding day races on Sundays in autumn, winter
and spring (11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), and night
races on Saturdays in the summer (10:30 p.m. 1:30 a.m.)
Close to the racecourse, there are several
catering establishments, some of them offering
music shows. Free parking is available for 1,200
vehicles, and entrance tickets are 7 euros for
visitors older than 18.

Of course, the racecourse's main attraction is
horse races, but there's an athletics track inside
the racing course, and this track is connected by
tunnel to the Olympic Stadium, featuring eight
running lanes, a rugby pitch, a gym, and all the

vault, weight-lifting, javelin, archery and other
sports.
