Wai Nani Surf & Paddle will host the 2015 Paddle for Humanity for a third consecutive year and Key Log Rolling® will host the 4th Annual Key Log Rolling Open. Paddle for Humanity is an award winning stand up paddle board event series featuring 5k paddle, 10k paddle, a Rule 7 mystery event. This year’s paddle event will be part of the Midwest SUP Series for the first time. The Key Log Rolling Open will feature youth and adult matches in a bracketed tournament. Free “Try-it” Log Rolling Demos for all-ages, offered by members of the new Minneapolis Log Rolling Club “This collaboration was a win-win decision for everyone”, said Abby Hoeschler, president of Key Log Rolling. “Minneapolis has a long tradition of aquatic festivals and we want to continue building on that for the next generation. We encourage people to come out to compete, or come with a picnic and cheer the athletes on.” Stand Up Paddleboarding and Log Rolling are both on the rise in the nation, especially in the Twin Cities, with recent participants proving they know how to enjoy fun and competition in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. “We’re excited to bring the SUP paddling and log rolling communities together,” said Holly Evans, Owner of Wai Nani Surf & Paddle. “There is no doubt this Minneapolis stop will draw a record crowd, bringing local and regional water sport enthusiasts together for a great cause!” Proceeds from both events will benefit the Minneapolis Parks Foundation.
