DANIEL RICCIARDO
22 year old Daniel Ricciardo is Australia’s latest full time Formula 1 driver who is
making a major impression on the international stage. For many years he was signed
to Red Bull’s junior racing team. It was this signing that allowed Daniel to progress
to race in major events, including British Formula Three Championship, Formula
Renault 3.5 series and the Red Bull Young Driver test. It was in these events as well
as his test driving for Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso where Ricciardo
really made an impression and signalled that he would be a star of the future.
In an exciting announcement and a major step in Daniel’s career, it was
announced on the 15th December 2011 that Daniel will become a full time
driver for the high profile team Scuderia Toro Rosso. This major announcement
for Ricciardo definitely marks him as a future superstar of Formula 1 racing.
Daniel Ricciardo has the commitment, talent and self-belief to become a major talent
in Formula 1. JAMES MAGNUSSEN
He is only 20-years-old but international swimming sensation James Magnussen has
already stamped himself as one of Australia’s most exciting athletes ahead of next
year’s 2012 London Olympic Games.
Nicknamed the Missile, Magnussen’s rise to swimming superstardom has been fast, if
not explosive. At the recent 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai, Magnussen
upstaged his more experienced rivals including the current world record holder to
become the new 100m freestyle world champion. The win makes Magnussen the first
Australian man to win swimming’s glamour event since the world championships
were established in 1973 and the first Australian to win over the distance at a major
meet in 43 years.
James Magnussen is Australia’s best swimming talent since Thorpe, Hackett and
Perkins. He has the ability, the drive and the self belief to be one of our greatest
athletes. The sky is the limit for the man they call The Missile.
