license can be obtained in any
Georgia county. Out-of-state
residents must appear in person
to apply for the marriage license.
Apply at the White County Probate
Court, 59 South Main Street (Suite
H), Cleveland, GA, Monday–Friday
between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The license cost is $66, and can
be paid for in cash, money order
or personal check only. (no credit
cards) A discount on the cost of
the license is available for couples
that have completed 6 hours or
more of premarital counseling. A
copy of the counseling certificate
or letter must be present on letterhead of the organization or qualified counselor.
Applicants must provide one of
the following: Photo identification
issued by a state or federal
government entity that has not
expired, a certified birth certificate,
or a valid passport.
If either party has been married
previously, either a final divorce
decree or death certificate must be
presented at time of application.
