To Be a Stephen Minister?

Stephen Ministries is
an outstanding national
ministry whose calling is
to train adult Christians in
the ministry of person-to-person caring. The idea of
bringing Stephen Ministries to FBC was introduced
during last fall’s stewardship emphasis. During May
and June, our goal is to further explain Stephen
Ministries, what it is and how it works, with our
church family. To get us started, members of the
Adult Ministry Team and I invite you to join us
for a Stephen Ministries information meeting on
Wednesday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m., in the fellowship
hall. The meeting will last no more than an hour.
Especially if you have gone through a serious illness,
a bereavement or other life-changing experience,
the Stephen Ministry may be just right for you.

The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South
Carolina Annual General Assembly 2013 will meet
this Friday afternoon, April 26, through Saturday
noon, April 27, at Tidal Creek Fellowship Church, in
Beaufort, SC. I will be attending and leading a breakout group on ways adults of different generations
can work together to God’s glory (I’ve seen this in
you!). If you would like to attend, please contact

made a meaningful impact whether you prayed and made “Thank You” notes, donated items
and money, or were present Saturday morning. David Crocker once said “okay, you’ve done
the one-day thing. Now let’s move on to a lifestyle of compassion ministry.” While we all had
a great time in “compassion ministry” on Saturday, it doesn’t stop there. We encourage everyone to visit a shut-in, take cookies to a fire station, make a birthday bag for a child whose family
comes to CAP, help a neighbor, or make a donation to Fostering Hope. Open yourself to demonstrating God’s love to others on a regular basis. As we all witnessed during Operation Inasmuch,
you will be blessed.”

The children of Lovell Weekday Ministry
recently participated in the St. Jude Children’s Hospital Trike-A-Thon.The Trike-A-Thon
is a fun, week-long safety curriculum and
fundraising program that supports St. Jude.
This program allows the children of Lovell
to learn valuable riding-toy safety lessons
through educational materials provided by
St. Jude. At the end of the week, children
brought their riding toys to school and celebrated the lessons they learned. Lovell Weekday Ministry successfully raised $2,473.00
for St. Jude Children’s Hospital this year.
