An Overview
O
rganised for the first time in February 2004
in Mumbai, the “GCC-India Industrial
Conference” brought together policy
makers and industry representatives from seven
countries i.e., 6 GCC Member States and India on a
single platform to explore areas of mutual
cooperation.
The GCC India - Framework Agreement - which
sought to enhance trade and technology transfer –
between India and the GCC states, was a key
deliverable of this Conference.
The second Conference organised in Muscat,
Oman in March 2006 led to the adoption of the
Muscat declaration which ensured that the event
would be held in alternate years between India
and six member states of the GCC.
In May 2007, India hosted the 3rd GCC-India
Conference which discussed ways and means of
expediting the proposed FTA between India and
GCC. The Conference also witnessed signing of
four MoUs between private sectors companies
from India and the GCC countries to form Joint
Ventures.
The 4th GCC- India Industrial Forum which will be
hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah
on 18th & 19th November 2015. The 2 day Forum
aims to provide the latest industrial and economic
updates, sharing information, networking
opportunities with key players, identifying
strategic partners and new business
opportunities. The Forum features keynote,
