Chamarel Our first visit takes you to the town of Curepipe and Trou aux Cerfs, a 300-metre wide crater of a now extinct volcano, which was formed as a result of volcanic activity millions of years ago. Your journey continues to Grand Bassin, a lake that has formed in the crater of another volcano. Then you visit Chamarel to admire the 90-metre high waterfalls and the unique seven-coloured earth.
