VRB1C & VRB3C Single Function VRBC Unlighted WARNING: Fixtures must be grounded in accordance with local codes or the National Electrical Code. Failure to do so may result in serious personal injury. MAINTENANCE: To maintain light efficiency and prevent fixture overheating, globe must be kept clean and free of dirt, dust, leaves, and trash. Globe should be regularly cleaned with a solution of ammonia and water or a suitable glass cleaner. NOTE: All electrical work must be done by a qualified electrician. KEEP THIS SHEET FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. ATTENTION: If your fixture is equipped with a multi-tap ballast and if no voltage was specified on the purchase order, the ballast has been wired for operation on a 277 volt circuit (347V in Canada). If other than 277 volts is required, i.e.; 120V, 208V, 240V, connect incoming voltage lead to required voltage lead on terminal block. Tools Required: B" Allen wrench 5/32" Allen Wrench Concrete Installation Instructions: ! 1. To protect finish, lay concrete bollard horizontally on wood blocks. 2. Install the four anchor plates with four D-11 hex head bolts provided. Position the anchor plates straight from center on round bollards (see Plan View). Use adequate means to lift bollard and set onto anchor bolts without dropping. Install flat washers & K" nuts. PLAN VIEW Orientation Line 4. Make final adjustments to level bollard by turning the bottom nuts on the anchor bolts. Secure bollard by tightening the top nuts on the anchor bolts. Make certain the electrical supply is OFF before starting fixture installation. Mounting Rods (4 Places) Fixture Mounting Screws (4) C”-16 x 1K” Long Round Head Gasket J-20 Nuts (6) Ballast Assembly Stacked Louvers Gasket Mounting Plate Terminal Block Ty-Rap Connect incoming voltage lead to required voltage lead on terminal block. (Supplied on a multi-tap ballast) 1. a. Mount ballast assembly onto fixture as shown. b. Make connections as per wiring diagram shown on ballast. c. Remove fixture top. Note: Fixture top screws need only to be loosened. Turn top to open area in keyhole slot and lift off. d. Remove six J-20 nuts and lift off stackable louvers. Install Mounting Rods (4 places) Mounting Plate Gasket 2. Place gasket on top of bollard. Route field wires through ty-rap (strain-relief) and make wiring connections to terminal block, i.e.; green-to-ground, white-to-common, and black-to-voltage. 3. Install mounting plate/ballast assembly onto bollard making sure that none of the wires are pinched. Secure mounting plate with screws provided. Install mounting rods in the two spaces provided. Note: For incandescent fixtures, connect the lamp leads directly to the field wires - No Ballast Required. 4. Install the stackable louvers onto the mounting rods and secure. Make certain electrical supply is OFF before starting installation or replacement. Button Head Screw Top Cap Retaining Strap & Pad Stackable Louvers 1. Locate two J-20 button head top cap screws (180° apart) concealed under top cap. Feel for screw heads approximately L” up under top cap between vertical ribs. The screw heads are only visible from low angles near the fiture body. Loosen - do not remove - screws with a standard 5/32” Allen wrench. Turn top cap clockwise and lift up to remove. 2. Remove J-20 hex nut securing one end of globe retaining strap. Loosen the other hex nut and pivot retaining strap to side. Lift globe up to remove. 3. Install lamp of type and wattage shown on fixture label. Make sure globe gasket surface is clean then reinstall globe. 4. Replace top cap by aligning screws with keyhole slot openings. Turn top cap counter clockwise and tighten screws. WARNING: The H.I.D. / Fluorescent fixture utilizes a lamp that may contain mercury. Copper and Bronze Landscape Components Copper and Bronze Landscape fixture components shall be warranted against defects of material and/or workmanship, and failure due to corrosion, for a period of 25 years from date of sale. Composite In-Grade Components Composite In-Grade fixture components installed below grade, shall be warranted against defects of material and/or workmanship, and failure due to corrosion, for a period of 7 years from date of sale. Aluminum Landscape Components Aluminum Landscape fixture components not in direct contact with soil, shall be warranted against defects of material and/or workmanship for a period of 3 years from date of sale. Aluminum fixture components in direct contact with soil shall be warranted from defects of material and failure from corrosion for a period of 1 year from date of sale. Limit of Liability and General Conditions Only products which are installed, used and maintained in accordance with applicable Kim instructions, specifications and accepted trade practices, are covered by the Kim Warranty. During the warranty period, with proof of purchase, Kim will repair or replace with the same or similar product, at Kim's option, without charge. Labor costs are the owner's responsibility and are excluded from this warranty. This warranty is void if the product is modified, tampered with, misapplied, poorly installed, improperly maintained, or subjected to abnormal conditions. Repair or replacement as provided under this warranty is the exclusive remedy of the purchaser. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of fitness for a particular application.
