sister to sister patch program
Girl Scouts turned 100 in 2012!
We want to share the great opportunities that we have to offer
with as many people as possible.
We are asking all girls and adults
to share the story and benefits of
Girl Scouting and invite a friend
to become a member of Girl Scouts this year. To
thank you for your help in building our membership,
we will continue to offer our Sister to Sister patch
program.
All current members—girl and adult—are eligible to
participate. If you recruit a new member into Girl
Scouting, you will receive a patch to build a “Circle
of Friends.” Your first patch is the center patch
(circle-shaped); colorful girl patches can be earned
for each addtional member that you recruit. Contact your troop leader to get a copy of the Sister to
Sister form. Fill out and attach the form to the newly
registered member’s registration form; you both
will receive a patch.

The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting is the ultimate resource to
help you navigate your way through your Girl Scout journey.
The Girl’s Guide is divided into three colorful, fun and informative sections: Handbook, Badges & My Girl Scouts. The
handbook section teaches Girl Scouting basics, traditions
and what’s new for girls.
The badges section provides the requirements to earn a variety
of badges in categories ranging from Girl Scout Ways to Financial
Literacy. There are even guidelines to make your own badge! This
section also includes a pull-out awards log that allows you to
track your progress in earning awards.
The final section of the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting is just
for the girls. This section gives you space to record your
Girl Scout memories. Each girl can make this section as
unique as she is!

Summer Camp 2012
Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland celebrated 100 Trailblazing Years with 6 weeks of resident
camp offered at 4 different program centers. Girls had a wide variety of sessions from which to
choose, including sessions that emphasized swimming, horseback riding, robotics, challenge
courses and good old outdoor fun!
Camp provides a unique opportunity for girls to learn traditions of Girl Scouts while also providing
a safe, relaxed environment where girls feel free to try new things. Days begin and end with a flag
ceremony, meals start only after grace, and everyone has Kapers they must complete. In between
the swimming, horseback riding, archery, hiking, game playing, song-singing and craft-making, girls
find time to relax with a good book, write a letter home to their family or take a short siesta in the
shade.
Every day at camp provides girls with an opportunity to make new friends, challenge themselves by
trying something new and most of all to make memories that will last a lifetime.
