Position Details Lagoon - Food and Beverage Personnel Overview Host Company Description: Lagoon Amusement Park, located in Farmington, Utah, 25 kilometers north of Salt Lake City, has been providing good times for the Mountain West ever since it was established in 1886. However, employees may work 50 to 60 hours per week depending on the desire of the employee, employee performance, and business levels. Typical Schedule: Employees must be willing and able to work a variable work schedule each week including evenings, weekends and holidays. Schedule times may be as early as 7 AM and as late as 1 AM. Employees must, at minimum, have at least one (1) day off per week. Position Description: Position Description: Under general supervision, the Food and Beverage Employee is responsible for performing a variety of duties while properly operating Lagoon’s food concession stands in accordance to Lagoon’s policies and procedures. Food And Beverage Employee prepare and serve food to Lagoon’s guests and follow proper sanitation procedures to keep a clean and orderly work area. All Food and Beverage Employees are required to obtain a valid Davis County Food Handler’s Permit and to follow all food safety guidelines as outlined by the Davis County Department of Environmental Health, as well as Lagoon’s policies and procedures. Participant will be required to pay for the Food Handler Permit course and test. Required Duties: Food and Beverage Employees will be taking guests’ orders at food locations and must have the ability to handle cash, operate a cash register and credit card machine, as well as count back change in accordance to Lagoon’s cash handling and cash control 1 /8 Position Details policies and procedures. The Food and Beverage Employee will prepare, cook, and serve food products as trained by Food Management in an efficient and timely manner. The Food and Beverage Employee will complete daily cleaning inside and outside before, during, and after the operational hours of the food service locations. Cleaning duties will include washing windows, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning counters, wiping guest tables, emptying garbage cans, and cleaning food service equipment including warmers, ovens, dishwashers, shelves, fridges, freezers, etc. The Food and Beverage Employee must monitor and respond to inappropriate guest behavior, including enforcing rules and restrictions, regulating guests’ actions, and requesting assistance from Security and the Food Supervisors if necessary. The Food and Beverage Employee will operate food service locations during normal and unusual conditions. The Food and Beverage Employee must exhibit a high degree of motivation toward ensuring guest satisfaction by displaying an aggressively friendly approach to service guests. In addition, the Food and Beverage Employee must be able to deal with many guests each day in a positive and friendly manner. Also closely monitor food area to ensure a safe operation and prevent theft. The Food and Beverage Employee must be flexible to work in different food service locations and must be knowledgeable in all work stations. During training periods, the Food and Beverage Employee must be able to read and assimilate information provided in the Food Division’s Manual and the Seasonal Employee Handbook, and comprehend verbal instructions from the training Food Area Supervisor. Food employees are required to exhibit an orientation to sales, and subsequently, employees are required to exhibit adequate communication skills. The Food and Beverage Employee will be working around high noise levels resulting from amusement rides and various food service equipment. The Food Service Worker must be able to remain focused on the job while dealing with interruptions from guests and/or other employee contact. All other duties as assigned by management. Supplies Required: Lagoon will supply each participant with their uniform shirt. Each participant will be responsible for supplying their uniform pants or shorts, as well as solid colored shoes. Shoe must be comfortable and may not be open-toed. Pants or shorts must be tan or light brown in color. Food and Beverage Employees MUST WEAR PANTS. Shorts are NOT permitted for Food and Beverage Employees. Dress Code: Each participant must wear an approved Lagoon uniform at all times while on duty and must adhere to the following uniform standards: • Uniform shirt must be tucked in at all times. • ID Cards must be visible while working. • Pants and shorts should be light in color: cargo pants/shorts, extreme flares, or frayed bottoms are not acceptable. • Shorts should have a low sole and be a solid color. Shoes and/or shoelace color may not be extreme. Opened toed shoes are not allowed. • Hats, whether required by your department or not, must be a Lagoon issued had. • Jackets, sweatshirts, hats, lanyards, or other optional uniform accessories employees choose to wear must be Lagoon issued and purchased at the employee’s expense. Grooming: Lagoon maintains a strict Personal Appearance Policy. Employees are expected to present a neat, well-groomed appearance and a courteous disposition. At Lagoon, we feel that these qualities go further than any other factor in making a favorable impression on the public and your fellow workers. All Lagoon employees must follow the same basic guidelines concerning personal grooming: • A neat haircut with no extreme hairstyles. Male employees’ hair should be off the collar. If your hair does not meet these standards, a Lagoon hat may be purchased to cover your hair. • Beards and mustaches are permitted if they are fully grown and are kept trimmed and neat. • Jewelry may be worn if it is in good taste and will not interfere with your safety. Exposed piercings or gauges, other than earrings on female employees, are not allowed. Male employees may not wear earrings or gauges while in uniform. • No extreme make-up. • Employees may be asked, and must agree, to cover tattoos while on duty. Drug and Alcohol: Possession, consumption, or being under the influence of alcoholic beverages or dugs on the premises at any time, on or off the clock, or prior to reporting to work will not be tolerated.
