UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA • ORLANDO, FLORIDA Self-Guided Tour 1 Reflecting Pond A popular spot to study and socialize, this campus landmark is located between the John C. Hitt Library and Millican Hall. During homecoming week, UCF hosts Spirit Splash, when the university president, coaches, cheerleaders, the marching band and students celebrate in and around the pond. 2 John T. Washington Center Named for one of the first African-American faculty members at UCF, this gathering place includes a Barnes & Noble, Chick-fil-A, the UCF Card Office and services for banking, mailing and printing — even a salon. 3 Student Union The heart of the UCF campus is a hub for activities, events and socializing. Eateries include Qdoba Mexican Grill, Smoothie King, Subway, Greens Salad Bar, Joffrey’s Coffee, Wackadoo’s Grub and Brew sports bar and others. Plus, there are study spaces and computer labs with free printing, a computer store, lounges, a convenience store and the SGA Ticket Center, which offers student discounts to local attractions and events. 4 Memory Mall This expansive grassy area — located near the CFE Arena, FAIRWINDS Alumni Center, ROTC headquarters, Career Services and Experiential Learning, and The Towers at Knights Plaza — is where you can find students enjoying a sunny afternoon, year-round. 5 Engineering I One of three buildings housing the College of Engineering and Computer Science, this is where students work with industry leaders such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Harris, NASA and Siemens. It’s also where cutting-edge nanotechnology research takes place at the Advanced Materials Processing and Analysis Center. 6 B usiness ADMINISTRATION II Home to one of UCF’s most popular majors, BA II houses the DeVos Sport Business Management Program, the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport and the National Consortium for Academics and Sports. Here our corporate partnership program connects students with such companies as AT&T, Disney, Marriott and others. 7 Chemistry Building One of the original buildings on campus, the home of the Chemistry Department also houses the National Center for Forensic Science. 8 Health Center UCF Health Services offers a wide range of medical care including clinics, a pharmacy, a dental center, a women’s clinic, lab testing, vaccinations and more. 9 Housing Department/Marketplace Live on campus until you graduate. Housing options range from traditional shared-room, residence hall suites to luxurious apartments. With the addition of two new communities — Neptune and NorthView — you can choose from more than 15 types of rooms. The Marketplace dining hall provides a wide variety of meal options for hungry Knights from morning to late night. 10 Recreation and wellness Center This facility has two swimming pools, cardio and fitness floors, a 41-foot rock climbing wall, sand volleyball and multipurpose courts, aquatics facilities and more. Aerobics, yoga, Pilates and spinning are a few of the exercise classes offered to students free of charge.
