Employee Survey: smoother, faster, more secure
There’s a plenty to like about this year’s Employee Survey, scheduled Monday, July 21
through Sunday, Aug. 3. This year’s version will be administered by Survey Concepts
and brings plenty of advantages:
• Access is easy, through an Internet link instead of a pin number
• The survey is fast—completes in 10 minutes or less
• Several security safeguards are in place to protect respondents’ confidentiality
• Your department will receive a treat if you have 75 percent participation
Congratulations to Sarah Conway, R.N.,
charge nurse on Orthopedics, for being
honored with the DAISY Award. A patient
nominated Sarah for helping him visit his
dying brother.

Below, Sarah signs the DAISY banner that will
hang above the 3 West nurses station for the month.
Sports & Physical Therapy and
Diabetes Education have moved
St. Anthony’s Sports & Physical Therapy
and Diabetes Education are moving from
Lamplighter and the Medical Plaza to a new
location one block down the road. The offices
will now share a space located right across
the street from St. Anthony’s Medical Center,
in the former Blockbuster building.
Today, Monday, July 14, both offices
will open at their new location at 9964-D
Kennerly Road, St. Louis, MO, 63128, at the
southern end of the Kennerly Center strip
mall. Their phone numbers will remain the
same.
Employees learn to prepare for emergencies
EMS Liason Brian Schmelig talks about the “Ready in 3” steps to prepare for an emergency at
St. Anthony’s Emergency Preparedness Fair July 9. Employees who attended the fair learned about
St. Anthony’s incident command, security alerts, weather alerts, home disaster preparation, spill
response/decontamination, missing persons/elopement, evacuation/MedSled and what to do in the
instance of an armed intruder/bomb threat.
Gift shop will close morning of July 21 for updates
St. Anthony’s Gift Shop is updating its cash registers on the morning of July 21. The shop
will close while the change is underway and will open by noon that day.
Kids learn water safety at Family Movie Friday
Get ready for the
back-to-school drive
For years, our employees have
contributed generously to the annual
back-to-school drive, hosted by St.
Anthony’s Franciscan Outreach Team.
The 2014 drive begins July 21 and goes
through August 5.
Back-to-school drive ambassadors
are needed to assist in spreading the
word and help with donations in their
departments and satellite locations.
For more information or to become an
ambassador, contact Diane Kaufmann at
ext. 4079.
A familiar face in the news...
Remember Sister Sandra
Straub, C.S.J., St. Anthony’s
former Director of Mission
Integration? She made
the headlines this week.
Straub is heading to El
Paso, Texas to help those
crossing the border.
“I’m not going down there as a
political anything. I’m going down there
to be walking with these people who
have suffered and walked miles or bused
miles. And because I’m a Sister of St.
Joseph, which says we are for God and
for all God’s people and we’re open to the
neighbor,” said Straub.
