Head east on I-20 E. 2. Take exit 183 for US 221 toward Appling/Harlem. 3.Turn left onto GA-47 W/US-221 N. 4.After 3.7 miles, turn right to stay on GA-47 W/US-221 N. Continue on this road for 12.1 miles. The Thurmond Lake & Visitor Center will be on the left. FROM COLUMBIA 1. Head west on I-20 W. 2. Take exit 1 for S Carolina 230 N/W Martintown Rd and turn right. 3.After 5.6 miles, turn left onto Woodlawn Rd. Continue for 7.5 miles. 4.Turn right onto SC-28 W and continue for 4.4 miles. 5.Turn left onto US-221-S. After 1.3 miles, the Thurmond Lake & Visitor Center will be on the right. Park at the lower parking area of the Thurmond Lake & Visitor Center. Hours of operation: 8 am to 4:30 pm, 7 days a week. Restrooms/changing area located inside the Visitor Center are available to all visitors until the center closes. Divers can also dive from their boats.
