REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. Condor, a leading manufacturer of scaffolding and formwork , is engaged in providing scaffolding for the restoration workson the facades of the palace designed by the architects Vanvitelli, already belonged to the Royal House of Bourbon of Naples, proclaimed World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the most known as Reggia di Caserta. The restoration of the Reggia, which began in May 2014, is an ambitious but also complex project because it consists of a recovery plan of a building considered among the greatest Italian artistic masterpieces. In fifty among workers and restorers are working, in collaboration with the Central Institute for the restoration coordinated by the architect Flavia Belardelli. The optimization of the phases of this complex work of restoration, and the management of huge quantities of required scaffolding (over 77,000 m2), were made possible thanks to the use of "MULTICOM" , Condor multidirectional scaffolding. REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. The building covers an area of about 47,000 square meters and it is composed by four facades and four monumental courtyards . With its five floors, it rises to a height of 42 meters . On the main facade there are 143 windows and in the palace there are 1200 rooms and 34 staircases. The scaffolding on the north facade has a maximum height of 42 meters with 20 scaffolding of 2.50 meters. In the courtyards the scaffolding reaches an average height of about 34 meters, up to an altitude of cornices coverage. The restoration of floor cornices was possible thanks to inner shelves with steel decks. The ways of access have been built with the V diagonals method (without bridging), reducing the aesthetic impact of the scaffolding on the facade. The protection of the passage has been guaranteed thanks to the use of stone-guard and steel decks. For the restoration of the vaults placed in the corners of inner courts, intermediate floors with size 5 x 3 meters were built. Different stair towers with exit floors, used both for evacuation and for transport of materials, were placed. The components of the system allow to work safely at all altitudes up to 42 meters high, despite the presence of numerous cornices, huge entrances to the courtyards and different access halls between a courtyard and the other». REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. The technical project of the restoration was entirely made with PON CAD. REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. MULTICOM. THE MULTIDIRECTIONAL SCAFFOLDING. Thanks to the innovative system and components, it enables the design of a universal structure which always meets the building needs of a construction site. 300 The system core is the structural node, made up of an 8 drill steel washer, solidly joint to the standard, to which relevant ledgers, transoms and diagonals are connected, through a wedge coupling vice that is fixed by a hammer blow. Ledgers, transoms and diagonals meet on the washer from different spatial directions and always transfer maximum stress to the center of the standard. In this way, besides enabling multiple directions, the system guarantees rigidity, structural stability and a high load capacity despite a small number of components. The system is built in high tension quality steel and is protected by hot dip galvanization which makes it resist corrosion for a long time, avoiding subsequent ordinary maintenance. With its assembling method, the system allows to speeding up and easing the installation in the construction site. It has interesting applications in complex structures and it is designed for use on facades of linear building, even if its modularity and stability make it suitable for any kind of temporary work. The Rosette guarantees modularity and versatility REGGIA DI CASERTA. THE RESTORATION. www.condorspa.com - www.ponteggicad.it - www.meccad.net
