Babysense™ II For PRINT
When parents bring their new infant home from the hospital, they want to ensure the safest possible sleeping environment for them. The technology of the Babysense II monitor is a unique safety monitoring system that will increase a parent’s sense of comfort and allow them to sleep and rest better knowing that their baby’s movements are being constantly monitored. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) remains a significant cause of death in infants of less than one year and is a parent’s worst fear. An apparently healthy baby with no previous or present illness is laid in bed for sleep and never awakens. Fortunately, the number of SIDS deaths has decreased in the last few years. Currently, about 2,500 babies die of SIDS annually in the US. Infants at increased risk for SIDS are those younger than 6 months of age, those born prematurely, males, and twins or triplets. Although parents can’t control these factors, research suggests there are risk factors for SIDS that parents can control. Factors that parents can alter to reduce the risk of SIDS are: • Always put your baby on her back to sleep rather than on the stomach (this may reduce the risk of SIDS by 25% - 50%). • Use firm bedding underneath your infant; soft bedding should be avoided as that may increase the risk. • Keep your baby’s environment smoke-free. • Don’t allow your baby to get overheated with excessive bedding, clothing or room heater. • Babies should not sleep in the same bed as parents; side sleeping is unstable and should also be avoided. Use the Babysense II Monitor !! Features of the Babysense II Movement Monitor Benefits of Babysense II Movement Monitor • CE certified and approved as a Class II Medical Device in Europe and Japan, where it has been used and tested in hospitals for years. • Two large sensor pads cover the entire crib. For young infants, one pad can be used in a bassinet and one in a crib or travel crib. Just move the monitor and plug into the pad. • Includes a hook for attachment of the monitor to the crib. A green flashing light indicates baby’s movements are being detected. A red flashing light and audio alarm sounds if the baby is in distress. A battery indicator light flashes when it is time to replace the batteries. • Unlike all other movement monitors, Babysense monitors do not automatically reset if a non-movement episode is followed by a movement episode. Recovery of movement cannot stop the alarm. The caregiver must physically turn the alarm off, thereby ensuring that the caregiver is notified of every non-movement episode. • Easy to operate. One button activation. • Compact and portable. • Operates on regular AA batteries, so no dangerous power cords. • No wireless interference with other electronics. • The passive sensors are totally safe and emit no radiation of any kind that could harm the baby. • Suitable for all infants from birth to one year of age. • Safe, proven technology used around the world since 1992. • BabySense II has received many prestigious awards and 5 star reviews from hundreds of parents who rave about the peace of mind the Babysense II gave them. • Monitor unit is equipped with a sensitivity level adjustment to reduce the risk of false or delayed alarms caused by environmental conditions such as extreme air movement or household vibrations. • Gives you peace of mind knowing your baby is safe. • Allows parents to sleep better because the alarm will sound if the baby is in distress. • Unlike other audio and video monitors, a motion detector will alert you with an alarm so you will know the baby is in distress and will also alert you of all non-movement episodes. • The highly sensitive sensors are not in direct contact with the baby. Infant movement is not obstructed. • The patented sensor technology captures every movement, even the slightest undetectable breathing movements in deep sleep. • There are no false alarms when the baby starts moving in the crib. The pads cover the entire crib area. • A must for any parent, grandparent or day care provider to provide reassurance that your baby is safe. The responsibility of assisting the baby in distress still rests on the caregiver, but the BabySense monitor provides critical time to intervene. • Babysense II utilizes a highly sensitive motion detector technology that is incorporated into sensor pads with sensor adjustment built-in to reduce false or delayed alarms. When the pads are placed under the infant’s mattress, it constantly monitors the slightest movement or motions. If movement stops for 20 seconds or if the monitor detects less than 10 micro-movements per minute, the alarm will sound and a parent or caretaker will know to come to the aid of the baby. • Compact design using two round sensor pads.
