DollarWise A Financial Literacy Program by Coastway Community Bank Managing money is an important life skill that some people, whether youths or adults, just need a little extra help with. That’s why Coastway Community Bank offers DollarWise, a financial literacy curriculum for non-profits and school groups. DollarWise Modules Banking Basics: What is a bank? Why should I use a bank? How does savings work? Checking Basics: What is a checking account? What are some common checking pitfalls? What is identity theft and how can I avoid it? DollarWise Details DollarWise is a FREE financial literacy program offered by Coastway Community Bank. Sessions are lead by Jane Kratsch, a Coastway Assistant Branch Manager and financial educator. Sessions are tailored to your organization’s needs. Number of participants, age of participants, length and number of sessions are all customizable. Participants come away with a series of worksheets designed to help them manage their finances in the future. Credit Basics: What is credit? How do my actions affect my credit? How can I use credit responsibly? The DollarWise program is not an advertisement for Coastway. The information provided in the modules is broad and generic. Many sessions are guided by the participants’ experience level and the type of questions they ask. Budgeting Basics: What am I earning each month? What do I owe in bills and expenses? How can I cut back on my expenses?
