President’s Message
As this will be my last message as your president I
would just like to say thank you for giving me a
chance to be your president for the last two years.
We have had our ups and downs but I think our
chapter has survived during my term and moved
forward. I really have enjoyed the experience,
although at times feeling the pressure and
frustration. Our membership is a great group and
should be proud of what you do not only for each
member but for the community. When the call for
help comes Chapter XXII responds. I couldn’t have
done this without the support not only of your board
but those members who get involved. That is what
the chapter is about, it’s your chapter and
membership involvement is so important. Now that
my term is over let’s continue on and get together
and support and work hard for your next President
and Board and continue the great Chapter XXII.
Having served as Secretary, Vice President and
President it’s now time for me to sit in the back
with the general membership and to continue to be
a part of Chapter XXII. I wish everyone a great
holiday season, Merry Christmas and Happy New
Year to all. “RIDE WITH PRIDE”

Quartermaster
Chaplain’s Corner
Thanksgiving has passed and I hope all of you had
the chance to celebrate with family and friends.
Leftover turkey and stuffing is still on the menu at
our house. Perhaps next year we could reach out to
our brothers and sisters (BK) and if someone is
alone adopt a fellow Knight.
Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are around the
corner JoAnn and I wish you all the best during
your holiday season. JoAnn and I take this time of
year to recognize the birth of our savior Jesus
Christ, so for us it is a spiritual time of celebration
as well as a time to invite "Old St Nick" into our
home with our family and friends and recognize
each with a gift. We have five children and their
spouses plus being gifted with 12 grandchildren. So
what’s under the tree is pretty impressive.
So on Dec 17th (Hanukkah) and Dec 26th
(Kwanzaa) remember your roots. Dec 25th
(Christmas) celebrate the birth of our savior. If
you're Jewish say Happy Hanukkah, if you
celebrate Kwanzaa say Happy Kwanzaa and if
you're Christian say Merry Christmas.
So this is my story and I'm sticking to it.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Karl
I am still recuperating and will be for a while.

Last Month’s Rides / Events
JB Boondock’s Bar & Grill, Howey-in-the-Hills
On November 1, the Chapter had every good
intention of riding to Boondock’s Bar & Grill in
Howey-in-the-Hills. Unfortunately the weather did
not cooperate; there was a stiff wind and bitter
temperatures by Florida standards. Members
decided to take a shorter ride and went to Crescent
City for lunch at 3 Bananas.

BK Members Participate in Patriot Guard
On Saturday, Nov. 15th some members of the Blue
Knights attended a memorial service for Larry
Morris who served in the United States Navy. The
staging was held at the VFW in Palm Coast. The
following were at the service Dave Lydon, George
Zampella, Jim Nichols, Ray Wright, Jeff Flammer,
Tony Dolce and Allan Schule. The dignity and
respect was received with great appreciation by the
family. You will be amazed at the difference made
for the families and the reward you feel for having
attended. These are not happy occasions but they
are important to the families who have sacrificed so
much for us. The dress of the group was
recognized immediately as their white shirts and
colors showed their respect.

The None for the Road – Never Drink and Ride
campaign encourages riders to drink responsibly
and avoid riding under the influence of alcohol and
other drugs. The campaign includes a series of
television commercials, pamphlets, and promotional
safety items. The purpose of the campaign is to
educate riders on the dangerous effects of even
small amounts of alcohol. Because many
motorcycle events involve alcohol, riders should
plan ahead by deciding how they will get home
safely or use a taxi or designated driver to get home
if they plan to drink.
Rider Safety
Humor
Two young children, a brother and sister, were
spending the night at their grandparents. At
bedtime, they knelt beside their beds to say their
prayers when the boy began praying at the top of
his lungs.
"I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE...
I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO...
I PRAY FOR A NEW DVR...!!!!!"
The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA) reports that in 2007
motorcycle riders involved in fatal crashes had a
higher percentage of blood alcohol concentrations
of .08 or above than any other type of motor vehicle
driver. The impairing effects of alcohol can
become exaggerated when riding a motorcycle
mainly because small mistakes can quickly turn to
big ones when riding.

His older sister leaned over and nudged the
younger brother and said, "Why are you
shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf." To
which the little brother replied, "No, but
Gramma is!"
