soccer Staff SOCCERFEST Peter McGahey Head coach • U9/10 & U11 teams play on Saturday of each weekend • U12, U13 & U14 teams play on Sunday of each weekend • Led Central Michigan to a top three finish in the Mid-American Conference in 2013, going 8-3 in conference action. • Serves as head coach of the US Youth Soccer Region II Girl’s Olympic Development Program. • Serves as a Michigan US Soccer National Training Center staff coach • McGahey served as the Technical Director for the Colorado Fusion Soccer Club from 2005-07. • Was the State Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Oklahoma Soccer Association from 2001-05. • McGahey compiled a record of 74-21-13 (.755) as head coach of Minnesota State. Cost: Cassie Weik 1st tournament – February 13-14 2nd tournament – March 12-13 Age Groups: Girls: U9/10, U11, U12, U13, U14** Boys: U9/10, U11, U12, U13, U14** **Per NCAA rules, all participants must be in 8th grade or below. Any team found to have high school participants will be disqualified immediately with no refund. Schedule: $345 per team per weekend. $300 per team per weekend if: • A club registers 2 or more teams** or • A team registers for both weekends** $275 per team per weekend if a team registers before January 1st **Applications & checks for multiple teams must be received in the same envelope Roster Change: A team will incur a $50 charge per player if they change their roster on the day of the tournament. Assistant coach/SoccerFest Director •Helped Laura Gosse earn second team AllMAC honors in 2014. •Served as an Olympic Development Coach in Minnesota. •Four-year letterwinner at Minnesota State including three bids to the NCAA tournament and a trip to the Elite Eight during senior year. Joe Nemzer Assistant coach •Oversees the goalkeepers, helping Grace Labrecque to second team All-MAC honors in 2013. She finished the season with eight shutouts, the fifth-most in program history. •Serves as a Michigan US Soccer National Training Center staff coach, as a US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Region II Goalkeeping Staff Coach and a Michigan Olympic Development Program Age Group Head Coach. • Led the United States women’s soccer team to a gold medal in the Maccabi Games.
