Clay Hill Farm was home for many
servants whose labors enabled the
farm to grow from 300 to more
than 4,000 acres in the early
1800’s. During the Civil War it was
at times used as a refuge for John
Hunt Morgan. Clay Hill Memorial
Forest is now a regional center for
environmental education and
research dedicated to helping people find comfort in nature. Enjoy a
self-guided tour and explore the interpretive trails leading to a cabin,
a spring and cemetery that still remain as testimony to the history of
servants.

shoreline with an average depth of 50 feet and a
distance of one mile at its widest point. The lake is
easilyaccessible by ten boat launches at various locations.

fishing destinations in Kentucky. Fishing below the dam
during winter and early springs also affords excellent

There are two fishing lakes. One is of full trophy size catch
and release catfish that weigh up to 60 pounds, while the
other is stocked four times a week with farm raised fish that
weigh 2 to 3 pound.

Green River Lake offers 8,210 acres of recreational
paradise providing excellent opportunities for almost any
water sport. With an average depth of 50 feet and 1 mile
across at its widest point, it’s just perfect for fishing, skiing
and boating. Both the avid angler and the beginning fisherman
will enjoy the challenge of fishing for bluegill, crappie, muskie,
walleye, white, largemouth, small mouth, and Kentucky
(spotted) bass. You’ll have access to 10 paved boat ramps in
various locations around the lake and two public fishing piers
which are located at Pier 1 and the Smith Ridge Recreation
Area. Pikes Ridge Campground also has a fishing pier but is
for campers use only.
