APRIL 2ND WILL BE THE ANNUAL AUTISM CRAWFISH BOIL
EVENT AT ROCK BOTTOM. THEY ARE IN NEED OF SIX (6)
VOLUNTEERS TO WORK THE VIP SECTION. VOLUNTEERS WILL
RECEIVE AN ENTRY TICKET, A GUEST TICKET AND AN EVENT

THE MONTGOMERY AREA MUSICIANS ASSOCIATION (MAMA),

POSITIVE FEELINGS YOU GET FROM SUPPORTING THE
ACTIVITIES THIS ORGANIZATION PROVIDES TO OUR
COMMUNITY. MUSICIANS ENCOURAGING/LEARNING FROM
OTHER MUSICIANS, SHOWING SUPPORT FOR THE LOCAL
BUSINESSES, INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY, PROVIDING
ASSISTANCE TO MUSICIANS/MEMBERS/VENUES IN TIMES OF
NEED, OFFERING MUSIC EDUCATIONWORKSHOPS TO WORK
WITH AND INSPIRE CHILDREN/YOUNG ADULTS TO CREATE
AND LEARN THROUGH MUSIC, AND PARTNERING WITH LOCAL
NON-PROFITS SUCH AS THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB, DISABLED
VETS, AND THE MONTGOMERY AREA FOOD BANK, ARE WHAT
IT’S ALL ABOUT. WHEN YOU SUPPORT THE MONTGOMERY

AND GENRES TO PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY, OFFER A PLACE
TO PERFORM AND GATHER EXPERIENCE, ENCOURAGE
MUSICIANS TO MEET AND NETWORK
OBTAINED APPROXIMETLY 2,700 FOLLOWERS ON OUR
FACEBOOK PAGE WITH A REACH OF OVER 10,000 PEOPLE

FOOD BANK, THE FAMILY OF JIMMY GILBERT TO HELP WITH
BURIAL EXPENSES, THE LATE JIMMY BROOKS TO HELP
PURCHASE A NEW WHEELCHAIR LIFT, RAY HUMPHREY TO
HELP PAY FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES, THE BOYS AND GIRLS
CLUB OF THE RIVER REGION, THE US MILITARY MOTORCYCLE
CLUB, THE ALCAZAR SHINE TEMPLE AND MANY OTHERS.
USED POSITIVE ADVOCACY TO HELP SETTLE/RESOLVE ISSUES
BETWEEN VENUES AND MUSICIANS
PROVIDED CONTRACTS FOR MUSICIANS TO USE AS NEEDED ON
THE MAMA WEBSITE.
PRODUCED A LIVE STREAMING EVENT CALLED “FRIDAY
NIGHT LIVE”, PROMOTING SOME OF OUR LOCAL MUSICIANS
AND OUR ORGANIZATION, WHICH RECEIVED NATIONAL
ATTENTION AND WAS BROADCAST WORLDWIDE.
BOOKED OVER 150 SHOWS FOR AREA MUSICIANS (BOTH
MEMBERS AND NON MEMEBERS) RESULTING IN OVER $100,000
OF COMMISSION FREE REVENUE TO AREA ARTIST. MAMA HAS
NEVER CHARGED ANY BOOKING FEES TO ARTIST.
MANY OF OUR MEMBER MUSICIANS HAVE PLAYED FREE
BENEFITS FOR THOSE IN NEED
HELD 2 HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL “MAMA OVER MONTGOMERY”
EVENTS PROMOTING AREA MUSICIANS AND BUSINESSES AT
THE CAPITAL CITY CLUB.
ESTABLISHED A MUSIC EDUCATION COMMITTEE WHICH HAS
HELD 3 HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS.
ALL HAVE EARNED POSITIVE REVIEWS FROM THE MUSICIANS,
THE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIRS.
