Mick Avory, Ian Gibbons, John Dalton and Dave Clark, four
long-term members of the legendary Kinks with over sixty
years of service between them, join forces to present the Kast
Off Kinks. This is a wonderful show comprising all the hits of
The Kinks (most of which these guys played on) and the songs,
coupled together with one or two witty anecdotes concerning
life with The Kinks, make this is a must see show!

Featuring the stunningly convincing vocals of brothers
Darren and Gary Simmons as Barry and Robin Gibb, as well
as Jarrod Loughlin as Maurice Gibb, these three leading
men collectively have career highs including starring in
London’s West End, numerous worldwide TV appearances
and performing live with the Bee Gees themselves.
The Jive Talkin’ band features some of the greatest
performers in the country today and recreates with
perfection the extensive Gibb Brothers’ repertoire.
Never before has there been a more complete Bee Gees
experience, making audiences both young and old feel as
if they are actually at a Bee Gees concert! The show also
features a stunning acoustic medley of some of Bee Gees’
earlier hits showcasing the uncanny voices of the three
lead singers creating a truly emotional musical journey.

nominee Sam Lee is the
latest folk singer to
revitalise ancient
traditional songs by
tackling them with an
intense, modern attitude.
His album Ground of Its

compelling and Sam is
fast becoming accepted as a new pioneer, defining the
sound, sight and texture of contemporary folksong. His live
band, Sam Lee & Friends, carve a new acoustic with their
homemade, mongrelised instrumentation using
unconventional contemporary arrangements that challenge
preconceptions of what traditional folk should sound like.

Dennis Locorriere still has one of
the finest voices ever and that’s
26 years after the group he sang
for decided to call it a day. And
the group, that happy but edgy
band who clocked up hit after

of the biggest bands across the world in the seventies and

and he was the only member of Dr Hook involved with every

in a folk club as a bit of an idea in 1993 and has developed
into a UK folk-rock institution. Six of the country’s best
fiddle players front a cracking band of guitars, keyboards,
sax and accordion, held together by the grandfather of folkrock drumming, Dave Mattacks. The show includes solos,

Cream was undeniably the first rock supergroup of the 1960s.
Although the band was together for less than three years,
Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton left a gigantic
impression on the world of rock music forever. Ginger Baker’s
son, Kofi, along with Jack Bruce’s son, Malcolm, team up
with guitarist Godfrey Townsend to pay humble tribute to the
world’s greatest power trio. This dynamic threesome, fittingly
titled Sons of Cream, captures the mood and energy of the
late ‘60s and early ‘70s, while each of the members adds his
own distinctive style. Townsend sings and solos with virtuoso
ease, and Bruce sings and lays down strong and innovative
bass lines, all the while complimenting Baker’s complex
polyrhythms, inherited directly from his father.

It’s a long climb from the schoolyards of Norwich to the top

just four years. The pivotal moment came at 15, when he was
invited to the US as the guest of Blinddog Smokin’ which led to
a mentoring scheme, with Oli sharing bills with Buddy Guy and
Taj Mahal. Since then, audiences have been mesmerised by his
stunning performances and unique take on the blues, mixing
funk, jazz and rock and he has picked up multiple awards

Karine Polwart returns to The

arrangements, all come together in songs of powerful
contemporary relevance. She also has the purest and
most approachable of singing voices, drawing the listener

Two of Britain’s most critically acclaimed and popular
instrumental groups are touring together for the first time.
Their leaders Jonny Phillips (Oriole) and Ben Davis (Basquiat
Strings), great friends for many years, have much in common
from classical, Brazilian, and jazz music to travel and humour.
The bands also share the same drummer, Seb Rochford (Polar
Bear). Although both utilize the earthy raw sounds of folk/
jazz/classical music informed by tradition, the sound of the
their two groups varies greatly. Both groups have new albums.
Oriole’s first album since Jonny’s return from Spain - Every Day
New was released in May 2012 to the usual critical success,
whereas Basquiat Strings, whose first album was nominated
for the Mercury award, will be releasing their exceptional second
album - Basquiat Strings - part II – as part of the May 2013

Jimmy Brewer is a songwriter, a guitar player and a singer,
but he is not your typical sad acoustic troubadour. He has
the power to silence a room with little more than an intro.
He captures an audience and takes them on an emotional
rollercoaster ride, leaving them exhausted, amazed and
fulfilled. Growing up he found inspiration amongst his
parents’ record collection. His early influences such as
the Rolling Stones and The Beatles are still perhaps the
most important, but with the addition of the old school
sounds of Nat King Cole and Fats Domino through to the
more contemporary styling of Jeff Buckley, the quirkiness
of David Bowie, the wit of Jerry Reed and the imagination
of Tom Waits. This diverse range of influences is very
much in evidence on his debut album As Time Stands Still
demonstrating that the craft of classic songwriting
is still very much alive and well.

herself torn between two different communities and ways of life;

Starting with the most basic terminology and theory, the day

it, and what do some of the more complicated ideas mean.
Through explaining basic concepts and simplifying complicated
terminology, the day aims to help you understand the principles
