Message from the Founder: The Granville T. Woods Project is a continuous work in progress. As prin­
ciple researcher and curator, I feel prepared to embark on the major motion picture production of GTW’s extraordinarily inventive life and inspirational saga. Robert Yasin Wright, a multi­talented writer, producer and director insists that now is the time that we fully engage in that process.

David L. Head is the founder of the David L. Head Foundation. His Mis­
sion is to have Granville T. Woods (GTW) recognized and acknowledged for his significant contribution toward the New York Transit System. Head is responsible for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Sponsorship of the 2004 Subway Centennial GTW Commemora­
tive Exhibit, the 2009 renaming of Brooklyn Street to “Granville T. Woods Way “ the 2009 induction of the worlds first electric roller coaster “Figure 8” created by Woods into the Coney Island Hall of Fame, and the 2012 publication of an illustrated book for young read­
ers, Granville T. Woods ­ African American Communication and Transportation Pioneer.
David L. Head is spearheading a major effort to increase the participation of urban youth in the fields of science and technology. By reaching out to the private sector to play more of a leading role by utilizing their state of the art technology within a classroom curriculum. With access, youth will be encouraged, motivated and guided in an innovative approach to contemporary challenges. Whereby careers in science and technology can be attained.

nization established to ensure that the legacies of minority founders of America are not lost. Oftentimes, these contributions have been excluded from historical citation and therefore its important to bring to light their significant roles in shaping the Ameri­
can experience. Our flagship Granville T. Woods Project is a unique production that skillfully highlight the principal contributions of an African American inventor whose life exemplifies hard work, persistence, commitment, and dedication to his goals. The Subway Centennial exhibit provides insight into how Mr. Woods used his electrical genius to improve the quality of life for a nation and a society.
Mr. Woods legacy is an encouraging message especially to youth, and this exhibit is valu­
able in its historical perspective.
