Spring 2014 Registration is March 3rd!
Wood Dale Park District Spring 2014 Registration is March 3rd Resident, Non-Resident and Corporate From the Park Board of Commissioners Hello Wood Dale Park District Residents, The Park District is excited about the future and finding better ways to serve your needs and expectations. As your elected officials, we believe this starts with planning. It has been a while since we took a hard look at ourselves and assembled some strategic plans, we spent the last few months collectively with Heller and Heller Consulting, Inc. and Park District staff to develop 2014-2018 Strategic Iniatives. The intent of the process included: • Alignment of the organization around a common vision • Review and confirmation of District vision, misison and values • Establishment of strategic themes, objectives and iniatives in support of the mission and vision • Establishment of future direction for the next five years The District desired to engage employees and Board members in the strategy, development and implementation process, resulting in a meaningful document for the District. As a result, there were a series of staff workshops and focus groups for input into the strategic direction including the development of vision and mission statements. We are pleased to present you with our new statements in the highlighted box to the right, that reflect our current state and future direction. Along with the development of a revised vision and mission, the District developed core values for the agency. Values describe how work is done; what it is like working at the District. Values represent the cultural norms of the organization. The staff developed the following values: communication, quality, fun, partnerships, and accountability with a team oriented focus. These values will be reinforced in hiring and promotional processes, staff orientation, ongoing operations, recognition systems and the performance appraisal process. We welcome your thoughts on our new misison and vision statements as well as your ideas that would support our District goals. Write to info@wooddaleparkdistrict.org or call us at 630-595-9333. Sincerely, Wood Dale Park District Board of Commissioners The Wood Dale Park District Commissioners and Staff are pleased to present you with our new mission and vision statements. Mission Statement Serving the community with quality recreational experiences that provide a fun and healthy lifestyle. Vision Statement Aspire to create positive memories and endless opportunities. If the Park District is unable to resell your ticket you forfeit your complete registration fee. Vandalism Vandalism certainly is not a unique problem to our community, but with your help and support the solution to the problem could be forthcoming. What is needed is your involvement in curbing the problems. Become an interested citizen and call your Park District OR Police Department if you see any acts of vandalism occurring. So many times people just sit back and say they do not want to get involved. Possibly if you knew how much of your tax dollar goes for vandalism repair, you would want to get involved. In addition to calling and reporting vandalism, what can you do? You can teach your children to respect the property of others. Know where your children are and what they are doing. Set a curfew for your children, and enforce it! Any vandals caught will be prosecuted and required by law to reimburse the Park District for damage.
