the only museum dedicated to preserving the history of
bushplanes and forest fire management in North America.

out a flight simulator, learn about the science of flight, spot
a fire from the 30-foot high fire tower and much more. Two

Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site
The site interprets the Ermatinger Old Stone House (1812),
the Clergue Blockhouse (1819 lower story, 1894 upper
storey) and historic gardens, through period and interactive
exhibits. Originally the home to Charles Ermatinger (fur
trader), the Old Stone House was later used as a hotel,
the first Court House, YMCA, and was used by many
nationally significant people enroute to the west. Also on

Sault Ste. Marie Museum
Originally designed as a post office, this Downtown
heritage building stands out with its distinctive clock
tower. Its Ontario eclectic architecture is a combination
of styles with Romanesque arched windows, magnificent
oak staircase and an exquisite three-storey skylight.
The Museum welcomes visitors to explore three floors
of exhibit galleries that depict the heritage of Sault Ste.
Marie. The Museum is open year round and is fully accessible by means of a ramp
located at the back of the building.

The Art Gallery of Algoma
A charitable, public art gallery, offering exhibitions of
contemporary and historical art in all media by local,
national and international artists. The gallery maintains an
extensive permanent collection and hosts exhibits from
around the world. Various special events large and small
are held through the year plus classes and workshops. A
charming and elegant gift shop is located on the main level
and a small coffee café is open May to Oct. 10 East Street, on the waterfront,
beside the Public Library and parking is always free.

St. Marys River Marine Heritage Centre –
Museum Ship Norgoma:
The Museum Ship Norgoma was built at the Collingwood
Shipyard in 1950 and was the last passenger boat
to be built and travel on the Great Lakes. Before the
building of the Trans Canada Highway she operated as
a passenger and freight vessel and was considered the
lifeline to communities along the north shore of Lake Huron. This meandering
route became known as “the Turkey Trail”. The Norgoma is reminder of the
dependence of the early settlers on regular visits by ships like the Norgoma.
In her later years she operated as a car ferry between the Bruce Peninsula and
Manitoulin Island. She was retired in 1974 and converted to a museum ship in
1977. The Norgoma retains much of her original equipment and is presently
being restored to the condition in which she sailed.

Treetop Adventures
There are several different packages available to suit
your interests at Treetop Adventures. The three hour
Treetop Obstacle course is challenging but designed
with the general public in mind. Trek, swing, climb and
maneuver your way up and across obstacles suspended

Zip Line. The newest zip line the Mega Zip Line is by far the fastest zip line in

at the end. The g-force of the Mega Zip is greater than the Space Shuttles
launch and reentry. Keep the adrenaline flowing and play a couple of hours of
bush paintball, where the hiding places are yet to be discovered. An adrenaline
