Kriya Yoga – Friday, 3/21, 11-1 pm
Kriya Yoga is an ancient system of self-awakening - Kriya meaning action & Yoga meaning
union or yoking. By placing the mind on the breath & key pathways in the body (Nadis), we
can activate the chakras & experience neurological changes. We’ll explore the 20 Kriyas
condensed by Swami Shivananda & then Swami Satyananda. Initially 84 Kriyas were handed
down by a yogi called Babaji, which continued through Swami Yuktaswara & then
Paramahansa Yogananda. Swami Shivananda condesnced them to 20 core practices in the
1940s. Suggested donation - $20.

Swami Shantimurti Saraswati was initiated into Sannyasa in 1976 by his guru,
Paramahansa Satyananda. Currently head of Ashram Yoga in New Zealand, he is highly
sought-after for his experience and expertise in meditation, kundalini yoga, pranayama,
yoga nidra, the chakras and kriya yoga.
