In this role, Andrew oversees a team of Legal & Data Solutions Architects and consultants who anticipate, identify, design and drive innovative business solutions. As an attorney and a technologist, Andrew regularly provides technology consultation to clients and Seyfarth Shaw attorneys. Andrew is a proven innovator and has overseen the completion of dozens of complex, legal technology projects. Andrew is a regular speaker on process improvement, legal technology and legal innovation. He has also authored articles on alternative fee arrangement use, legal process improvement and user experience design within the legal environment. Yasmin Lambert Partner - RSG Consulting Yasmin is the Senior Consultant and an equity partner at RSG Consulting. She has worked with the firm for the last six years, immersed in the FT Innovative Lawyers programme, RSG-India and many of the other thought-leadership projects RSG undertakes. The many strings to her bow include designing some of the major analytical frameworks behind the Eversheds Board Reports as well as the conceptual frameworks for value in legal services the firm has pioneered. She is an accredited Meyler Campbell graduate of the Elements programme and uses her coaching every day with clients and the RSG team. She also teaches on the IE Business School Lawyers Management Programme. With extensive experience in academic research and writing, Yasmin is trained in qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. After five years working in the IT industry, Yasmin worked for the Department of Health in Australia and on a project to develop self-regulation for the further education sector in the UK. Yasmin has a first class honours degree in legal and political philosophy from the University of Sydney, where she also completed graduate studies in economics. Martin Coleman Global co-Head of Regulatory & Investigations - Norton Rose Fulbright and Board Member/Chair of Education & Training Committee, Solicitors Regulation Authority Martin Coleman is a competition partner based in London and Global Head of our Antitrust and Competition practice. Martin has led many cases before the European Commission and UK competition authorities and has advised major businesses, public authorities and national governments on competition law issues. His areas of expertise include merger control (including contested bids); advising complainants and respondents in relation to investigations by competition authorities; competition law compliance and competition law strategic planning. He advises businesses, governments and government agencies. Martin is regularly recommended in the legal texts, with Chambers UK 2010 describing him as “a heavy hitter with a big presence in the market.” and Legal 500 stating “Martin Coleman heads a team that has achieved roles on a series of seminal cases”. Andrew helps Nabarro translate this strategy into a set of actions. Nabarro’s aim to put clients at the centre of everything they do, and focus on areas where the firm is acknowledged as experts, and on five key sectors. The firm’s client base is becoming increasingly international. In addition to the above, Andrew is one of Nabarro’s senior Corporate partners, with a 30 year track record of applying deep industry knowledge to high profile corporate transactions. His legal expertise is centred around M&A and private equity, providing business orientated advice as opposed to the pure letter of the law. Andrew also leads the defence sector offering at Nabarro and has significant cross-border expertise (particularly acting for US clients within the UK). Andrew holds a CF from the Corporate Finance Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a CTA from the Institute of Taxation. Sarah McNulty Head of Sales - Axiom Sara McNulty is UK Head of Sales at Axiom, the world’s most innovative provider of tech-enabled legal, contracts and compliance solutions for large enterprises. At Axiom, Sara oversees the strategy and growth of London’s Commerce & Industry and Diversified Financial Services practice areas along with managing the wider office. She has extensive experience working with innovative General Counsel to improve their operating models and deliver value back to the business. Sara joined Axiom from Simmons & Simmons where she trained and practiced as a commercial litigator. Priya Lele Principal Process Improvement Lawyer - Streamline (BLP) Priya is a dual-qualified lawyer (Advocate in India and Solicitor in England and Wales) with over 14 years’ experience. A corporate finance lawyer by background, she uses legal process improvement and legal project management techniques to create processes to support efficient and seamless service to clients. Priya completed her LLM (in Corporate Law) at the University of Cambridge and worked as a Research Fellow there before joining the London office of Ashurst LLP. As a Senior Associate, Priya gained significant experience in international M&A and Equity Capital Markets transactions. Priya joined BLP as a Corporate Finance Knowledge Development Lawyer in 2012 before moving into the Streamline, Legal Process Improvement (LPI) team as a Process Improvement Lawyer. Priya conducts Streamline workshops for clients as well as BLP legal teams. Priya explores and delivers new ways of working through specialist process design, continuous improvement, project management and innovation. Priya is involved in client and strategic projects across the firm. Priya has a Yellow Belt and is currently working towards a Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma Organisation Development. BLP’s Streamline approach was shortlisted and Highly Commended for both “Most Innovative Law Firm in Client Service” at the FT Innovative Lawyers Award 2014 and “Innovation of the Year” at the Modern Law Awards 2014. It received further recognition as part of BLP’s Integrated Client Service Model, which was shortlisted and achieved a “Standout” ranking for “Innovation in Value Resourcing” at the FT Innovative Lawyers Award 2014. Libby Jarvis Legal Projects Manager - Herbert Smith Freehills Libby oversees the development and delivery of strategic initiatives and competency programs in the Australian region combining the disciplines of project management, process improvement and knowledge management. This is driven by a desire to continually improve the way the firm manages and delivers legal services, and responds to the changing expectations of clients. On a practical level, Libby and her team do this by partnering with clients, client teams, internal pricing specialists and matter teams to design and implement tailored frameworks and processes. Libby is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner. Prior to joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2012, Libby worked for ten years as a litigation lawyer, six of which were spent in London where she worked in-house for Glaxo SmithKline and later as a Senior Associate with a major international law firm where she was responsible for project managing large-scale and complex litigation. Having held Senior Management roles within a number of organisations in Visual Merchandising, Operations, Buying and Marketing, and currently working broadly in the retail industry as a Consultant, Sue specialises in guiding retailers in areas that impact on customer’s perception, specifically Visual merchandising, Marketing and Customer Experience. Currently Sue is a senior director at the Australian Retailers Association, with responsibility for delivering training programs and defining industry standards of best practice education for the industry. Sue is also a director of consulting business, Retail Capabilities, which delivers retail education, training and consulting services to organisations in the property and franchise sector. Sue holds several qualifications including a Bachelor of Business (Management) and an Executive MBA. Although not on Sue’s formal bio - Janders Dean believe it only right to highlight that Sue (always selfless and humble) is also quietly a Board Member of Australian charity The Kids’ Cancer Project. Sue has been instrumental in lobbying the Australian Government to raise awareness about the importance of childhood cancer research and funding, and the need for the introduction of leading treatment facilities that are not currently available in Australia. As a result of the amazing work of Sue and her fellow Board Members and network, The Kids’ Cancer Project can take an immense amount of the credit for the recent announcement that life-saving proton therapy treatment will now be available in Australia, potentially by 2017, meaning that Australian families no longer have to travel the globe seeking treatment for their children. Travis Leon Director - XRef Travis Leon qualified and practised as a solicitor in the Derivatives and Structured Products Group at Linklaters in London before moving in-house to Merrill Lynch. With lawyers from other top firms, Travis co-founded XRef, a company that created software to automate important elements of the proofreading process carried out by lawyers. The tool, which has been well-received by lawyers in the UK, US and Australia, combats two growing concerns for law firms: 1) minimising risk; and 2) increasing efficiency/productivity of fee-earning lawyers. Matthew Kobylar Director of Interior Design and Workplace Strategy - Arney Fender Katsalidis Matthew Kobylar is a Workplace Strategist and Interior Designer renowned for delivering high quality workplace environments. With over 20 years’ experience in the corporate interiors industry, Matthew is passionate about researchdriven design and is always keen to understand the question “why?” and how it drives business based decisions about design. Matthew is a regular speaker on subjects related to generational issues, productivity and workplace performance measurement. Matthew is responsible for the management and delivery of projects within our office and leader of the Interior Design Studio. He has extensive experience in professional service firms including accountancy firms, law practices, executive recruitment consultants, management consultants, as well as many financial institutions. Arney Fender Katsalidis is and architecture and interior design firm that design beautiful, innovative and inspiring interior spaces and buildings that help people live and work better. Formed in 1988, Arney Fender Katsalidis has a quarter century of collective, award-winning experience, however, consider themselves young at heart and nimble of mind. During his time with Arney Fender Katsalidis, the company has completed projects throughout the UK, Asia and Australia, and are also currently undertaking work in Canada, the Middle East and Malaysia. Richard Seabrook Director - Neota Logic Richard is a Senior Executive at Neota Logic and a leader with a record of building and leading global organisations across a range of industries and professional services, Rick’s most recent role as European Managing Director of a Nasdaq-listed legal technology business focused on strategy, growth and commercial delivery. Previously a Managing Director at Accenture, Rick has enjoyed 18 highly successful years of market and business development and leading large-scale global divisions, and is an expert in strategy, organic and acquired growth and transformational change. Rick has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Joint Honours) in Modern Languages from Newcastle University, England and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. Based in London, Greg is a seasoned executive with extensive experience managing businesses across Europe Middle East and Asia. He most recently served as the International Managing Director for Epiq Systems, an eDiscovery and legal technology company. Prior to that he headed Pinpoint Global in London, was the founder of Diskcovery in Australia and also practiced as a solicitor in Sydney. Greg’s role allows Neota Logic to better support existing clients in Europe as well as to leverage the deep technology and process transformation experience he brings in the delivery of the company’s innovative technology solutions. Dr Viktor Dörfler Senior Lecturer in Information and Knowledge Management - Strathclyde Business School Management Science Department Viktor is Senior Lecturer in Information and Knowledge Management at the Department of Management Science, University of Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow, UK. His research is focused on two interrelated areas: modelling of personal knowledge and learning in organizational context; and knowledge-based expert systems (KBS), and related intelligent applications. Viktor has written two books, five book chapters, several journal papers, and a few dozen conference papers. He uses innovative teaching methods and advised the development of several VLEs and the Doctus KBS. As knowledge engineer he used Doctus to support top executive decision takers. Viktor’s research is focused on two interrelated areas: the first covers modelling personal knowledge, learning and cognition in organisational context; the second covers knowledge-based expert systems, in particular the Doctus KBS. Having developed a number of conceptual models of personal (and later trans-personal) knowledge, his most recent research on creativity and intuition has seen Viktor interview 20 world-renowned experts, including 17 Nobel Laureates. This research has been published in Management Learning, International Journal of Management Reviews, Knowledge Management Research and Practice, Creativity and Innovation Management, amongst others. Viktor also serves on the International Editorial Board of Management Learning. Stuart Barr Chief Strategy Officer- HighQ (UK) Stuart leads product strategy, design, marketing and client engagement at HighQ. Stuart has a strong background in business strategy and consulting as well as extensive technical, project and general management experience. Stuart has a diverse background with web technologies and social computing in the professional services industry, having previously worked at leading organisations including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Hays plc and Headshift, an innovative social computing agency. Stuart has a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Cardiff Business School and a keen interest in the web, social computing and technology in general. In particular how it can be applied in the enterprise to transform the way we work. Tom Slate Continuous Improvement Director - Clifford Chance LLP Tom is the Director of Continuous Improvement for Clifford Chance, responsible delivering a programme of improvements in legal service delivery, based around ‘lean’ and ‘six-sigma’. Having worked in the legal industry for almost five years, Tom and his team regularly work with lawyers, partners and clients from across the globe to re-design their approach to delivering and managing legal services in a more cost effective way. His team’s work also extends across the non-fee earning side of the business. Their work has included running rapid process improvement workshops on end-to-end finance transactions and corporate acquisitions, involving both lawyer and client, to running training courses on Continuous Improvement to help manage an individual’s time more effectively. Before joining Clifford Chance, Tom worked in the telecommunications industry in Australia, also deploying Continuous Improvement. Over that time Liz has worked on improving the efficiency of the day to day tasks to enable the team to deliver higher value products and services to meet the challenges posed by the rapidly changing legal environment for financial services. As a result Liz is very enthusiastic about what Continuous Improvement can achieve, so much so that she is making a career change to join the Clifford Chance Continuous Improvement team. Andy Wishart Chief Technology Officer - Business Integrity Andy Wishart is Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Business Integrity. Since 2000, Business Integrity has provided best in class document assembly and contract automation products for law firms and corporate legal departments. As CTO at Business Integrity, Andy has worked with leading global law firms and corporate legal departments in the delivery of differentiated client services and contract automation solutions. Andy has recently worked with Stanford Law School, delivering a class on the future of legal document assembly, and participated in workshops aimed at bringing together academic research with industry best-practice. Prior to Business Integrity, Andy worked as a research associate and lecturer at the Human Communication Research Center in Edinburgh. He is a graduate in Artificial Intelligence and Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. Miles McGoun Director - Manzama Miles McGoun is Director of Global Sales for Manzama and is responsible for leading Manzama’s international sales and business development efforts. After receiving his BA Hons degree in Business and Finance from London Guildhall University, Miles joined the legal solutions company Tikit Limited. Miles was one of the very first employees at Tikit and during his 14 year tenure with the company he helped Tikit grow from a small startup to its acquisition by British Telecom for £64 million. While at Tikit, McGoun helped to successfully introduce a number of U.S. software products into the European law firm market including InterAction, ContactNet and iManage. More recently he has helped to bring some of Tikit’s products into the worldwide legal market space including Tikit’s emarketing solution which is now in use at more than 350 law firms across the globe. A nationally recognized Thought Leader, Miles is available to speak or write about his many areas of expertise. Peggy Forell Director - Advocality Peggy Forell is a consultant with 20 years’ experience in the areas of communication and impact. Her theatrical training formed the essence of her work, starting from a concentration on presentation skills and voice work for the non-actor/ singer, to now encompassing influencing and persuasion techniques, profile-raising and self-branding, as well as personality profiling. Peggy rapidly transitioned into the demanding world of commercial clients and she numbers some of the most notable global law firms and banks on her client list. Peggy also works with an impressive list of universities and teaching institutions around the world.
