Turrets - Rosenbauer
Turrets With electronic control unit Rosenbauer - turretS Turrets with electronic control unit From 800 l/min (200 gal/min) up to 13,000 l/min (3,400 gal/min) On airport, industry or municipal fire fighting vehicles, the electronically controlled turrets by Rosenbauer have won confidence over the world due to their reliability and performance. Technical details: ▪▪ Light metal body ▪▪ O-stream nozzle with flow rate adjustment ▪▪ Electric full/spray jet setting ▪▪ Manual override ▪▪ GRF design cover ▪▪ Integrated light ▪▪ Intuitive fully-electronic control unit ▪▪ Fully automatic oscillating function The turrets are designed without compromise for furthest throw range, best foam qualities and a versatile design for use as front or roof turrets. Extreme conditions call for tough turrets All Rosenbauer turrets are equipped for the challenging, continuous use with all water and foam compound qualities under various climatic conditions. The turrets must also meet the highly demanding driving dynamics of airport fire fighting vehicles. Loads of up to 10G put the components to a hard test in every use. 2 Rosenbauer - turretS Firefighters throughout the world trust the robustness, operational stability and high operating comfort of the Rosenbauer turrets. Water Unique – the ChemCore nozzle The ChemCore nozzle was developed in order to optimise the output of the extinguishing agent, and is completely integrated into the turrets. The RM60 turret for instance can be supplied with up to 6,000 litres/min (1,585 gal/ min) of water while retaining the quantity adjustment function and dry powder with up to 20 kg/sec can be added to the water stream. This allows a further throw range of dry powder without drift. Dry powder Rebounding plate with powder pipe Nozzle body Adjustment full-/spray jet 3 Rosenbauer - turretS RM15 turret Bumper turret with foam barrel and deflector on ARFF vehicle The turret RM15 is a compact turret adaptable to a wide variety of missions. It can be used as front turret for an ARFF as well as a main turret for a municipal vehicle. Water and foam turret designs come with throw ranges >65 m with water and >47 m with foam nozzle meeting NFPA 414 and also as just dry powder turrets. Water and foam turret designs come with throw ranges >95 m with water and up to >90 m with foam nozzle meeting NFPA 414 and also as combination or just dry powder turrets. The ChemCore nozzle delivers up to 20 kg/sec dry powder directly in the O-Stream with superior throw range and extinguishing capabilities. Turret with foam barrel Powder turret Technical data 6 Rotation range max. 270° Elevation range max. -18° to +70° Nozzle O-stream nozzle Nozzle adjustment Electric adjustment for full/spray jet adjustment Foam nozzle Optional, with integrated aspiration plates for increasing the foam quality Deflector Optional, for adjusting the jet by using the foam nozzle Dry powder nozzle mounted on top, maximum flow rate 20 kg/sec integrated, maximum flow rate 60 kg/sec ChemCore nozzle integrated combined water/powder nozzle, 6,000 litres/min water, 20 kg/sec dry powder Rosenbauer - turretS RM130 turret The RM130 turret is the top product of the Rosenbauer turret family. It is as suitable for demanding industrial fire fighting situations as it is convenient in meeting the tough foam quality requirements at airports, with its maximum flow rate of 13,000 litres/min. The ChemCore nozzle delivers up to 20 kg/sec dry powder directly in the O-Stream with superior throw range and extinguishing capabilities. Roof turret with foam barrel LED lights Technical data Rotation range max. 360° Elevation range max. -20° to +70° Nozzle O-stream nozzle Nozzle adjustment Electric adjustment for full/spray jet adjustment Foam nozzle Optional, with integrated aspiration plates for increasing the foam quality Deflector Optional, for adjusting the jet by using the foam nozzle Dry powder nozzle mounted on top, maximum flow rate 20 kg/sec integrated, maximum flow rate 60 kg/sec ChemCore nozzle integrated combined water/powder nozzle, 13.000 litres/min water, 20 kg/sec dry powder 7 Rosenbauer - turretS Easy, intuitive turret control All electronically controlled turrets come standard with CAN Bus control. The control of the turret can take place through two controlling elements: Feedback control The control of the turret always matches with the control handle. So, the operator can always monitor the position of the turret with the control handle. Speed proportional control Other important functions: The displacement of the joystick gives the turret movement its speed. This enables an extremely precise control of the turret. One hand operation All turret functions can be directly operated from the joystick/control handle with just one hand. Automatic oscillation function A fully automatic turret operation is possible with the optional oscillation function. The turret travels on a rectangular path, which is progammable to meet your needs. Wireless remote operation In addition to the joystick or control handle, the control of one or more turrets can also be carried out through a wireless remote operation. Besides the control of all movements and controls of up to 4 turrets per vehicle, the water pressure and jet adjustment can also be controlled from a distance of more than 100 m. Parallel to the turrets, elements such as the light tower FLEXILIGHT can also be controlled with the operation unit. 8 Rosenbauer - turretS Turret nozzles 4 ChemCore nozzle 1 O-stream nozzle All turret nozzles are O-stream nozzles. The ring jet increases the stream stability and thus enables farther throw ranges. 2 Foam nozzle In addition to meet NFPA 414 and ICAO requirements, the turrets can be equipped with customised foam nozzles. The expansion take place in the foam barrel creates ideal foam with superior throw ranges. The ChemCore nozzle, available only with the RM60 and RM130 turrets, enables the injection of the extinguishing powder in the water stream. This carries the dry powder farther throw ranges without drift. The turret retains the quantity adjustment function. 5 Dry powder nozzle The turrets can also be designed as pure dry powder turrets for large powder throw rates. Powder quantities of up to 60 kg/sec are possible in this case. 3 Foam nozzle with on top mounted powder nozzle A special powder nozzle especially customised to the powder quantity with a laval nozzle can be attached for the additional use of extinguishing powder. 1 2 4 5 3 A variety of turret nozzles are available. 9 Rosenbauer - turretS Other options 1 2 3 4 1 Cover The GRF cover is used for the protection of mechanical and electrical components. 2 Light The cover has integrated lights to illuminate the scene. They have impressive light outputs and simplify the operator’s job under difficult visibility conditions. 3 Camera For the RM60 turret, it is possible to display an image from the turret’s perspective on the operator’s panel through an external camera. 10 We make customer solutions possible. 5 4 Winter package For special applications in areas with low temperatures, the turrets RM25 and RM60 can be equipped with an auxiliary heating and customised cover. The heating ensures that the turret does not freeze even in very low temperatures and therefore remains fit for use. 5 Deflector The deflector is used to deflect the water stream from the foam nozzle to a broad stream. Optimised form and ideal size help exceed the standard requirements.
