VOLUME 8 ROLL: 1195 15 AUGUST 2016 Tauranga Intermediate School Thank you TECT for your donation of $100,000 for our 1:1 Kia Ora / Dear Parents, Caregivers, Students and Friends of Tauranga Intermediate School I hope you all had a very pleasant winter vacation and welcome back to Term Three. Once again it will be very busy with a multitude of events happening culminating in the 13th NZCT AIMS GAMES in Week Seven (Sunday 4 September to Friday 9 September 2016). The AIMS GAMES 2016 has attracted 9,200 competitors and 275 schools up from 2015 figures of 8,032 competitors and 263 schools. I hope that your sons and daughters at Tauranga Intermediate School are able to participate in the 2016 Games in one of the 21 codes being offered. In 2016, three new codes have been introduced. They are Canoe Slalom (former students Ryan and Ella Nicholas currently competing at the Rio Olympics), BMX (former student Kurt Pickard a former Olympian) and Futsal (Brazilian Indoor Football - not offered at the Olympics). It is unlikely that we will offer any further sports due to the current size of our event. It is anticipated that the 2016 NZCT AIMS GAMES will bring close to $3 million dollars into the community and the week. 1 Dates to remember: * Monday/Tuesday 22 and 23 August Tauranga Girls College Parent/ Student eInterviews * Thursday 25 August 5.00 pm Full Board of Trustees Meeting in the Boardroom TIS * Wednesday 31 August 7.00 pm at Baycourt Tauranga Primary Schools’ Music Festival * Sunday 4 September - Friday 9 September 13th NZCT AIMS GAMES VOLUME 7 TAURANGA INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL - EXPLORING PERSONAL POTENTIAL AUGUST 2016 Dates to remember: STAFFING We wish our new staff a happy time at Tauranga intermediate School: Holly Crawford Room 24 - Kauri - replacing Sue Lloyd who has gone to Austria.
