Installation
IMPORTANT: For proper operation, do not connect the Wireless-G USB Adapter to your
computerbeforeyouinstallthesoftware.Ifyoudo,waitfortheFoundNewHardwarescreento
displayandclick“Cancel”,otherwise,theinstallationprocesswilllikelybeadverselyaffected.
Download the driver from http://www.homespotdigital.com/support-download/ and start the
Setup.exeprogram.
Waitfortheinstallertorun
SelectLanguageandclick”Next”tocontinuewiththeinstallation
Theinstallerwillautomaticallyinstalltheprogram.WhendoneSelectYes,Iwanttorestartmy
computernowandclickFinishtorebootyourcomputer.
Withthecomputernowturnedon,inserttheWireless-GUSBAdapterintoanopenUSB2.0port.
With the Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard screen displayed (which is automatic
whentheadapterisconnectedtothe.computer),selecttheoption“No,notthistime”andclick
”Next”.
When prompted with “What do you want the wizard to do?” seslect “Install the software
automatically(Recommended)”andclick”Next”.
Astatusscreenwilldisplay,indicatingthattheinstallationisinprogress.Noactionisneededat
thispoint.
When the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard screen displays, it indicates that the
installation ha been successfully completed and your Wireless-G USB Adapter is ready for
configuration.
Configuration
Oncetheinstallationiscomplete,youcanconfiguretheWireless-GUSBAdaptertoconnecttoa
wireless access point(AP). The wireless configuration utility will start automatically, and you’ll
alsofindatrayiconatthelowerrightinyourWindowssystemstray.
1. Right-clicktheWirelesstrayiconandselect”OpenConfigUtility.”
2. The configuration utility will scan for wireless networks within range. Click “Refresh” to
refresh the list of available wireless networks. To join a Particular network that displays,
selectitandclick“AddtoProfile.”
3. Ifthewirelessnetworkusesencryption,youneedtoinputthecorrectencryptionkey.The
configuration utility automatically suggests the correct authentication type (see the dropdownlist),andyoushouldnotchangethesuggestedvalue.
NOTE:ForWPA/WPA2networks,youneedtoselectthecorrectencryptiontype,aswellas
(AESorTKIP).Thesesettingsdependonhowthewirelessnetworkissetup.Onlytheowner
ofthewirelessnetworkcanprovidetherequiredinformation.
4. Ifthewirelessaccesspointissuccessfullyconnected,you’llseethefollowingdialoguebox.
