ADMINISTRATOR’S COMMENTS
Henry Fonda once said, “I've been close to Bette Davis for thirty-eight years - and I have the cigarette burns to prove it.” It’s a
funny line, and I’ll bet there isn’t a person amongst us who can imagine Bette Davis without a lit cigarette in-hand or in a nearby ashtray.
As an ex-smoker I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy my habit, and I’ll also admit there were times I didn’t use an ashtray. I make this
admission with the hope somebody reading the newsletter just now will identify with it and think twice before throwing that unfinished cig on the
ground at Park Newport. Cleaning up after one’s self makes for a better community. Thanks for your help on this matter. (Please note, karma has seen to it I pick
up and throw away thousands of discarded smokes every year).
Speaking of community, our Fitness Center expansion and Clubhouse remodel are proceeding according to schedule, and our Hallway renovation project is
at the halfway point. Your support of these projects and patience throughout their duration is appreciated. You will note we have commenced enforcing laundry
room hours of 7am to 10pm in the interest of noise abatement. As warmer weather arrives, let this serve as a reminder to keep noise at respectable levels, as
you and your neighbors are entitled to quiet enjoyment under the law.

OLD DOG (PG)
UP IN THE AIR (R)
On the verge of a game-changing business deal, a
divorced dad (Robin Williams) and his womanizing
best friend and partner (John Travolta) are thrown
for a loop when they're tasked with caring for a
rambunctious pair of 6-year-old twins. Helmed by
Walt Becker, this family comedy also stars Seth
Green, Kelly Preston, Matt Dillon, Rita Wilson and
Bernie Mac, in his final big-screen appearance.
Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) racks up miles
flying around the country firing employees on
behalf of companies. But he faces losing the job he
savors to recent college grad Natalie Keener (Anna
Kendrick) -- and losing the ability to escape
emotional ties to anything. A connection he builds
with Alex Goran (Vera Farmiga), however, might
change his outlook on the future. Golden Globe
winner Jason Reitman's smart comedy also stars
Jason Bateman.
April 13
NINJA ASSASSIN (R)
When his best friend is murdered by the shadowy
Ozunu clan, Raizo (Rain), an orphan raised to be an
assassin, vows revenge. But a government agent
(Naomie Harris) is also trying to expose the gang,
and now, the two must work together to bring the
Okunu to justice. Time is running out as the clan's
professional killers chase the pair across Europe.
James McTeigue directs this action thriller also
featuring Rick Yune, Ben Miles and Shô Kosugi.
April 20
BROTHERS (R)
When severely traumatized Capt. Sam Cahill
(Golden Globe nominee Tobey Maguire) returns
home alive from a military mission in Afghanistan
after he was presumed dead, he learns that his
brother, Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), has gotten
dangerously close to his grieving wife, Grace
(Natalie Portman), and his kids. Mare Winningham
and Sam Shepard also star in this wartime drama
about human frailty and battles fought on the home
front. Jim Sheridan directs.
April 27
April 9 & 10
ARMORED (PG-13)
Armored truck guards Mike (Matt Dillon), Baines
(Laurence Fishburne) and Quinn (Jean Reno) turn
against one another after their plan to steal $10
million from their own company goes seriously
haywire. A witness throws a wrench into their
seemingly flawless strategy, so each man
scrambles to save his own skin -- whatever the cost
to the other conspirators. Nimród Antal directs and
Columbus Short co-stars.
April 16 & 17
SHERLOCK HOLMES (PG-13)
Robert Downey Jr., in a Golden Globe-winning role,
stars as the legendary London sleuth Sherlock
Holmes, joined by Jude Law as Dr. Watson, in this
Guy Ritchie-helmed reinvention of Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle's detective series. Based on a comic book by
producer Lionel Wigram, the story follows Holmes
and Watson as they face off against the villainous
Blackwood (Mark Strong). Rachel McAdams costars as sharp beauty Irene Adler.
AN EDUCATION (PG-13)
April 23 & 24
Jenny's (Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan) Oxfordbound teen life is undistinguished in 1961 London
until she's given a different kind of education after
being immersed in the beguiling but hazardous
world of cultured and much-older David (Peter
Sarsgaard). Even Jenny's father, Jack (Alfred
Molina), is intrigued by him, but her school's
unimpressed headmistress (Emma Thompson)
works to keep Jenny's entire future from crumbling
under David's influence.
BAD LIEUTENANT (R)

immigrants in New Orleans. Co-starring Val Kilmer
as McDonaugh's partner, Xzibit as drug supplier Big
Fade and Eva Mendes as prostitute Frankie
Donnenfield, director Werner Herzog's action drama
