“Le donne, i cavallier, l’arme, gli amori, le cortesie,
l’audaci imprese io canto (…)”, inizia così l’Orlando
Furioso di Ludovico Ariosto
ed in questo modo potremmo iniziare anche noi
il racconto di #FollowYourRoots, la nostra nuova
collezione.
Una storia di re e principi, stemmi e investiture,
forzieri e armature, un tuffo nel passato,
un viaggio nel tempo alla ricerca delle proprie radici
per dare senso a ciò che oggi siamo e respiriamo,
alle sensazioni che avvertiamo o alle intuizioni
che improvvisamente abbiamo ma che forse sono
nient’altro che la reinterpretazione di ciò che
“da secoli” abbiamo dentro.
L’unione tra presente e passato è sintetizzata
nel nome della collezione; l’hashtag della
comunicazione 2.0, davanti a quelle radici,
da riscoprire, che si trasformano in fonte
d’ispirazione privilegiata.
#FollowYourRoots si pone come la seconda tappa
di un viaggio iniziato lo scorso anno tra le rovine
toscane che, grazie a quel girovagare tra i luoghi
del cuore, oggi si fa introspettico fino a
riconoscere un legame profondo e indissolubile
con la propria terra.
Firenze e i suoi dintorni: strade, palazzi e rovine
che oggi circondano Lapo Ciatti, sono gli stessi
che secoli or sono, venivano percorsi da principi,
re e cavalieri; arriva da qui questo medioevo
che si fa contemporaneo e che si trasforma
in prodotti dai materiali, dalle finiture e dai dettagli
che sembrano essere stati trasportati da quei luoghi
e da quei tempi in un quasi inaspettato déjà vu
che abbatte secoli di storia.
Materiali come la ghisa e il bronzo lavorati nelle
fucine medievali o l’oro e l’argento che ridotti a
foglia decoravano i dipinti sacri, oggi sono speciali
finiture per lampade, tavoli e sedie,
mentre chiavistelli, borchie e catene si trasformano
in elementi caratteristici di mobili per una casa
del terzo millennio.
“Of loves and ladies, knights and arms, I sing,
of courtesies, and many a daring feat (...)”; thus begins
the epic poem Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto,
and thus could begin the tale of #FollowYourRoots,
our new collection.
A story of kings and princes, coats of arms and
investiture ceremonies, coffers and armour: a plunge in
the past, a journey through time in search of our roots
to give meaning to what we are and breathe today,
to the feelings or intuitions that we suddenly have but
that perhaps are nothing but the reinterpretation of what
we have had inside “for centuries”.
The name of the collection synthesizes the union
between past and present: the hashtag of
communication no. 2.0, the prefix to the roots to be
rediscovered, which turn into a privileged source of
inspiration.

#FollowYourRoots is the second stage of a journey
that began last year, among the Tuscan ruins.
A journey that, thanks to that wandering among those
beloved places, has now become introspective,
revealing a deep, indissoluble bond with our own land.
Florence and its surroundings: the same roads, palaces
and ruins that today surround Lapo Ciatti are the same
places in which centuries ago princes, kings and knights
were living; this Medieval setting becomes contemporary
and real, with product materials, finishes and details
that seem to have been transported from those times
and places in an almost unexpected déjà vu, wiping out
centuries of history.
Materials like cast iron and bronze worked in medieval
forges, or gold and silver hammered into thin sheets
to gild sacred paintings are today’s special finishes for
lamps, tables and chairs, while locking bolts, studs and
chains have now become the distinctive details of the
third millennium furniture.
