IN HONOR OF “NAKO”
Former Sioux Hockey Player and Grand Forks Red River High School
Hockey Coach, Perry Nakonechny (Nako) passed away at age 47 after
a lengthy battle with cancer. He is remembered as a
great teammate and even greater family man. The
Perry Nakonechny Youth Sports Fund, which provides support toward youth sports in Grand Forks
for generations to come. The Nakonechny family has
dedicated $50,000 to be allocated to ICON Sports
Center and a new baseball / softball scoreboard at
Apollo Park. All proceeds from this event will go
towards this commitment.
