Stauff moves away from yellow zinc plating on
the clamp metal harware
Have you been losing sleep trying to make sure all of your products are free of
hazardous materials, and in compliance with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous
Substances) regulation? You can now take comfort in knowing that Stauff
clamps have taken the necessary steps to move away from these restricted
materials containing Hexavalant Chromium such as the Yellow Zinc Plating
(Stauff W3 Finish Code), mainly found on the cover plates for the Standard and
Twin Clamps, Stacking Bolts, and Safety Locking Plates which is a hazardous
substance. A new plating will be used for these parts and gradually introduced
over the next 12 months.

There are many updates to report since the last news letter.
2007 has provided some personnel changes as we look forward to continued and improved service.
We are glad to have Greg Steiner back at Stauff. After 6
months in Florida, Greg couldn't resist the urge to get back to
action with us. Sadly after 22 years of service, Catherine
Finely has retired. Thanks Catherine for your commitment
to excellence while servicing Stauff customers! We wish you
an enjoyable retirement, you will be missed. Unfortunately
Donna DiSalvo has left Stauff after six years of service for
personal reasons; we all wish Donna a wonderful future.
Please welcome the addition of Chris Compitello , Carolyn

Melissa Thieleman to your custo-mer service crew.
Chris is responsible for distribution customer service and has

I hope that the business climate is still proving to be good for all of you as we
move to the middle of 2007. The Northern part of our territory (USA and
Canada) still continues to grow, but at a lower level than we have seen over the
past three years. South America and especially Brazil is moving ahead at a very
rapid rate - long may it continue.

Stauff USA re-organizes
the regional sales group
International

Continuous improvement
Stauff USA
Business still continues to be good in the USA, but not at the levels that we have seen over the past three years. Our
warehouse re-organization is now 70% complete with the layout and re-classification of all the bin locations now complete. The final stage will be the “go-live” of the wireless warehouse which is now expected to be late June 2007. With
the experience obtained both at the Filtration Division in Ann Arbor and Stauff Canada, we do not expect too many
major surprises.
We continue to improve our injection molding tools with the arrival of the new molds for the US style twin series
Group 3, and the AG-2 and AG-3 Multi-purpose clamps. We are looking at reviewing other product with the potential of moving production back to the USA to help take advantage of the effects of the declining dollar against the Euro.
Our organization continues to develop as we strive to improve our response to you, our customer base.
• Split of the Sales Team into two groups: OEM and Distribution headed by two seasoned professionals - Mike Gorecki and John Hudson.
• The appointment of Jon Robinson as a Product Specialist for Test and Diagnostics which will allow us to put increasing concentration on this
important sector of our business and allowing Peter Koch to spend more time on Ball Valves and Accumulators.
• The retirement of Catherine Finley after over 22 years of superb service with Stauff. She will be sorely missed by her loyal group of customers.
This and other changes that we have needed to make in Customer Service will mean that this Department has a very new look to it.
Thank you for your continued support and we try to improve both our service and our product offering to you. We
really appreciate your efforts in completing the Customer Satisfaction Surveys and this does help give us direction in
areas that we need to improve.
Investing in infrastructure and products
Stauff Canada
Stauff Canada continues to grow even with the extreme challenges that face the Canadian economy with the downturn
in the Automotive Sector that is forecast to decline by 2.5 to 3% in 2007. This has had an impact on both the Ontario
and Quebec marketplaces. But, thanks to your efforts, we have continued to grow as you find new applications for the
Stauff Range of Products. The demands of the Oil Sector in Alberta has certainly given us a nice balancing effect. Even
with the talk of gloom in the market, Stauff Canada continues to invest in our infrastructure and product.
• We intend to implement a B2B software in the last quarter of 2007 which will allow our distribution direct order entry and stock checking
ability. This will surely help as we all look to take costs out of the supply chain.
• We will continue to add new product and services to our existing range with the new range of clamps designed for the mobile market, new
transducers (later in 2007) and test kits.
On the personnel side, we have also had some events of note:
• Curtis Barnes, from the warehouse and his wife Tammy gave birth to a daughter Aalijah - Congratulations to them!
• John Ibasco, from Customer Service took the plunge and married Tess in March 2007.
• A special mention need also to go to Brett O'Neill who passed another milestone by completing his 12th year with Stauff Canada. Brett
was one of our original employees when Stauff Canada was started in 1995.
• Congratulations also to Andrew Parkins from the warehouse who will be attending Centennial College in the Fluid Power Technologist
Program in September 2007.
Effective January 1, 2007, the Stauff Regional Sales Group was re-structured into two groups.
• An OEM Group to focus more on the Global OEM Accounts operating
in North America under the leadership of Mike Gorecki.
• A Distribution Group to focus more on the needs of our distributor
Partners led by John Hudson.
Rapid Growth
Stauff Brazil
Stauff Brasil Ltda. has moved
ahead very rapidly as a result of
very strong growth during the
first four months of 2007. This
has been driven by the robust
mobile manufacturing sector in
Brasil and continued investment
in infrastructure in the steel, oil
and gas and mining sectors together with our continual development in local manufactured
product such as filler breathers
and clamp metal components
which are not only used domestically, but also exported to Stauff
Group Companies worldwide.
This rapid growth has meant that
we have needed to strengthen our
inside support team to ensure
that you continue to be given the
best service possible.
• Jacson Vunes Barreto has been hired
to help develop our IT structure.
• Fatima Regina Sabione Oliveira, a former Stauff Brasil employee as re-hired
to help with the developing metal
breather production.
• To increase our inside Sales Support,
Claudinele Lobato Viegas was hired in
Inside Sales and Tatiane Cristina
Machado as the new telephone operator.
The OEM Group consists of:
Bruce Arnott who will handle distribution and market development for
the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin and U.P., North and South Dakota and
Nebraska. His key OEM Accounts will be CNH, JCB, Kobelco, Terex, and
Thermo-King.
Perry Hartman who will handle distribution and market development for
the states of Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. His key OEM Accounts
will be Deere, Caterpillar and AGCO.
After two years of field tests
Stauff Brazil leads the way with Filtration
Development in the Sugar Cane Industry
Mike Gorecki will assume a supporting role in the 9 state region together with responsibility for the development of the key OEM accounts Volvo, Komatsu and Liebherr.
During March 2007, Stauff Brasil was invited to participate in the 9th Seminar
for Technology and Production of Sugar Cane in Ribeirao Preto, SP. During
a presentation to over 450 Industry personnel, Stauff presented the results of
two years of field tests.
Key OEM Team objectives are to manage and develop our OEM sales in
the Central region through our Distribution Channel and also develop our
sales to key Global Accounts in North America that are handled on a Stauff
direct basis.
With Stauff pressure, return line filters with glass fiber media and by-pass
filtration from RMF instead of the standard cellulose elements, the contamination level was reduced from ISO 20/14 (approx. 10,000 solid particles per
1 ml) to a level ISO 16/10 - a reduction by a factor of 15. This gives ideal
working conditions for a hydraulic systems.
The Distribution Group consists of:
John Hudson, who apart from having responsibility for the Group is also
responsible for the states of Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
Stauff also executed field tests with RMF Offline filter systems installed as an
aftermarket kits on sugar cane harvesters. The results were excellent.
Brian Anderson takes over responsibility for the complete Western
Region comprising the states of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho,
Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and California.
All field installations were closely monitored by using the Stauff LASPAC-1
Laser Particle Counter which has proven itself as an extremely accurate and
practical field measurement tool.
Paul Lexow, with responsibility for the states of Michigan, Indiana,
Ohio and Western PA, West Virginia, Kentucky and New York.
Ben Murray, our new Regional Manager with responsibility
for the states previously handled by Harry Conn, including
Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee,
Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and
Louisiana. Ben joined Stauff after six years experience in
field sales for a manufactu-rer of pneumatic valves
sold exclusively through distribution.
For more detailed information on this, contact José Roberto Píccolo
at jroberto@stauffbrasil.com or Cam MacNeil in North America at
cmacneil@stauffusa.com.
• Michele Medeiros dos Passos was
promoted from telephone operator to the
financial department.
The key objective of the D-Team is to increase
the quality and quantity of field sales time with
our Distribution, increase training for our distributors and improve our Distributor relationships. This should
mean additional business for both Stauff and our Distributor
Partners.
We are looking forward to another record year in 2007.
Best of luck to all of you for the balance of 2007 and thanks for the support in helping us grow on a consistent basis
over the last 12 years!

Available in sizes 1/2” to 1”, our
special HBV-CNG type valves
can be supplied for manual or for
fully automated operation, utilizing pneumatic actuators. Internal
testing allows Stauff to expect a
cycle life that is at least 2 to 3
times longer than that of competition. Do you have any such

in infrastructure in the steel, oil
and gas and mining sectors together with our continual development in local manufactured
product such as filler breathers
and clamp metal components
which are not only used domestically, but also exported to Stauff

Stauff Corporation
moving into the

For almost 30 years, Stauff Corporation has had a reputation of
providing the hydraulic industry
with ball valves of the highest
quality available. This reputation
has “leaked” into the AlternativeFuel Industry: more specifically
the Compressed Natural Gas
(CNG) Industry.
Working with local Transit
Authorities, special ball valves
were developed for CNG fuelling
stations servicing buses running
on Compressed Natural Gas.
Made of stainless steel, rated at
6000 psi minimum working pressures at 450 degrees Fahrenheit
with no less than a 4:1 safety factor were developed.
Available in sizes 1/2” to 1”, our
special HBV-CNG type valves
can be supplied for manual or for
fully automated operation, utilizing pneumatic actuators. Internal
testing allows Stauff to expect a
cycle life that is at least 2 to 3
times longer than that of competition. Do you have any such
applications in your territory??

Stauff USA re-organizes
the regional sales group
International
News •

Heavy Series
This product has been well received, but there has been a
great demand for the use of softer materials for the clamp
body in a clamp assembly. Stauff Corporation will meet the
demands of the industry by releasing the following LBBU
Clamp Product Line.
• Laser based 4-channel inline particle monitor for the continuous
monitoring of particle contamination in hydraulic and lube oils.
Marketing Highlight
These new digital gauge kits are ideal for the end user who requires the kind of precision that only digital instrumentation
can offer, as well as the added versatility that comes with every Stauff test kit. These test kits will combine the SPG-DIGI
gauge, which is a valuable tool for trouble shooting pressure spikes in any hydraulic system, and the Stauff test points,
which are the benchmark of quality for test point fittings. There will be two kits offered. A simple gauge kit that will suite
the basic needs of testing and trouble shooting hydraulic systems, and a full kit that will also include several types of port
connections to adapt to most any hydraulic system.
• 7/16 UNF test point
• 9/16 UNF test point
• Parker style quick-disconnect fitting
• 60” test hose
All of this is enclosed in an easy to carry, protective storage case. If the standard kit does not cover
your requirements, a customized kit can easily be produced. Please contact your Stauff customer
service rep for more details.
The material of the clamp body of the
LBBU Clamps is Thermo Plastic Elastomer
(TPE). The LBBU Clamps are available for
one hole and two hole applications. Bore
Diameters range is from 1/4” to 1”. The
hardware for the LBBU clamps will be
available in Carbon Steel with UNC and
Metric Bolts. Larger bolts are available for
high-vibration applications. The LBBU
Clamps will have four Assembly Styles:
Weld Plate/Cover Plate (pictured on left),
Cover Plate/Bolt (pictured on right),
