There were ninety-five 9th grade students and seven 10th grade students who were invited. In addition to the inductees, parents, and special guests, several of the IBA business partners were also in attendance. Friday-Green Out Bullying Christie Reeves from the University of Houston. There are currently 166 students enrolled in the IBA program at Klein Forest High School. Dancing With the Professionals! The Klein Forest Dance Department has been selected by the Houston Ballet’s Education Outreach Program as part of their “Learning from the Masters,” series. During this time a guest artist will come to work with one of our classes for a period of six weeks free of charge. The dates have been tentatively set for every Wednesday November 7, This is an awesome opportunity for our students to be exposed to professional choreographers & dancers. All For A Good Cause! The 5th Annual Dig Pink Volleyball Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Awareness will be held on October 9, 2012 at the KFHS volleyball match against the Spring Lions. The Volleyball team is currently asking for donations of spirit shirts from sponsors for one of our baskets. The team has already received shirts from Volleyball, Track and Cross Country, Basketball, Softball, Tennis, and football. If you are willing to donate please email Coach Fobbs and she will pick it up or you can put it in her box. team and coaches would appreciate that too! Grant applications must be completed and received by December 1, 2012, and will be awarded in February at our Outstanding Women of North Harris County Awards Luncheon. The North Harris County Branch AAUW is encouraging non-profit groups in the NW Houston area to apply for educational grants. A digital version of the book Lynne Dozier, Former English Teacher @ KFHS used to teach kids to write, THE WRITER’S VOICE, is now available in the Apple Ibookstore. This version contains prose and poetry from 47 AQUILAE STILUS writers and covers everything from how to write a motto to how to prepare a writer’s portfolio. A percentage of the profits will fund scholarships for Klein Forest writers and Klein Education Foundation grants that support the teaching of writing. More information to come!
