Program Ponderings

On Wednesday June 15th, Kingsley Shores parking lot was
filled with classic cars! We welcomed the Southern Cruisers
for a delicious lunch with our gentlemen. After that the
residents were able to go out and view the cars. Andy Becker
was the lucky raffle winner! He was treated to a ride around
Orchard Lake in a silver ‘57 Chevy.

REFLECTIONS FAMILY:
Please make sure your family member
has the permission slip signed if you
would like them to go on outings or
participate in activities with an extra
cost. We cannot take them without this.
Our outings have included Dairy Queen,
MN Zoo, Chart House, MN Twins Game
and Culvers. If you need a copy of the
permission slip, please contact Liz.
Music is a huge part of our programs in
Reflections. If you have any music CD’s
you would like to donate, please contact
Liz.
Our Reflections Neighborhood will be
visiting White Tail Park on July 14th. We
invite any volunteers to join us!
Make sure to take a look at the
Reflections Garden! They are working
hard to keep it watered and weed-free.

A peaceful and scenic valley gives way
to a large hilltop picnic area that
provides sprawling views of the
countryside, including the 835-acre
Vermillion River Wildlife and Aquatic
Management Area to the south and
east and Empire Lake to the west.
AL/IL will be visiting White Tail Regional
Park on Tuesday July 19th. This is a
gorgeous park and there is a shaded
pavilion where we will enjoy our lunch.
We will provide a boxed lunch for $5.00
or you may bring your own food.
Families are always welcome to join us.
We do ask that you provide your own
transportation. Come enjoy the beauty
of our state!
RED BARN PIZZA OUTING
Our pizzas are made with handmade
dough. We utilize our chemical-free
gardens for many of the toppings
(onions, peppers, squash, spinach,
eggplant, tomatoes, basil).
No
reservations needed – just walk up,
order and wait for your number to
show up on the board. The new kitchen
and restrooms are located just behind
the barn which is where you will find
the menu board and place your
order. Your 16" pizza will come in a
cardboard box. We accept cash or
check.* We have reserved the barn to
ensure we have tables and chairs. We
will also bring plates and utensils*

BeanBag Tournament
Do you enjoy singing?
We are looking into starting a
small choir here at Kingsley. If you
are interested in learning more,
please stop by Liz’s office and sign
up.
In June we started our Thursday
night Bean Bag Tournaments. Every
week we add scores to the week
before. So you don’t want to miss a
week!! Even if you don’t want to
play, you are always welcome to
come watch. Games start at
6:00pm. Our players do better with
a crowd!
DAKOTA COUNTY LIBRARY
Thank you to Pahl’s Market for
the tour and the opportunity to
plant some beautiful flowers.

We have entered a new program with
Lakeville Library! Every three months
we will receive a new shipment of
books and audio books from the
library. These books will be stored in
the Activity Center. Residents are
welcome to check these resources out
during library hours or by following the
instructions posted in the library
storage. This is a great program that
will provide us with
new reading
material.

Need To Knows
As we have welcomed a lot of new Residents
to our Community in the last month, I’m
going to take this opportunity to give some
helpful tips and “need to knows”!
We hold monthly Resident Meetings on the
3rd Wednesday of the month at 1:00pm. The
purpose of the meeting is to ask questions
and discuss your suggestions with our
Department Heads and learn about
upcoming projects and events. If you don’t
feel comfortable speaking in front of the
group, please feel free to ask me your
questions or voice your concerns beforehand so that I can address them at the
meeting. We also have a suggestions box located around the corner from the USPS mailboxes.
For your address to be considered complete
by the USPS, your apartment number is
Required. So when giving out your address,
don’t forget to include your apartment
number, to ensure your mail gets to you in a
timely manner.
For Independent Living Residents – you have
10 meals a month included in your rent.
These are for dinners or Sunday brunches
only. You cannot use them for breakfast or
lunch but you can use them for guests! They
cannot be used for the Special Holiday
Brunches on Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas Day or New Year’s
Day.
Food for Thought
Happy July everyone!!
Well this month, we will be having a
4th of July Buffet for the noon meal
and the dining room will be closed
for dinner, so the daily diners will
receive a box dinner! Please
remember to sign up for the buffet!
Our Food Forum will be on July 6th.
this month at 10:30 in the dining
room. Bring ideas, recipes, and
enjoy a cup of coffee and a treat.
See you there!
I hope you are all enjoying your
Summer. Watch the menu for
buffets and / or grill outs!!
Thank you all for your kind words!!
Chef Marge
For families of our Memory Care Residents –
we now ask that you sign out your family
member at the front desk on the clip board
that says “memory Care and Assisted Living
Residents’ Sign out sheet”.
