Fall is finally here! The first trial of the season
started off a little slow thou it was a beautiful fall
day and everyone was eager to run their dogs. The
puppy field was running late, due to only having
two 4-wheelers for planting the open field all day.

Dog Flu ( Canine Influenza H3N8 ) is a canine flu virus which has been
around since 2003. It started in Colorado and has spread to 30 states
over the years. Recently it has been reported and has 20 confirmed cases
and 70 suspected cases in Dallas, Austin & San Antonio. Their have
been some in OK, but none in Tulsa. This virus in highly contagious
and spreads from exposure from other dogs through contact, sneezing or
cough.
Many of us hunt in areas( private or public) and have come in contact
with other dogs in hunting area in Kansas, southern OK and western OK.
or have stayed at the same motels.The virus is not life threatening, but
can be expensive to cure. Very similar symptoms to Kennel Cough.
Check with your veterinarian, they might have given the vaccine with
your dogs annual vaccinations.
