Branchesgrowfasterfromseparatebudsneartheirtip.Thetreehas 1. anunusualrandomarrayofbranches.AGinkgomaybeavailablein theFriendsNursery. 3.CorkscrewHazelCorylusavellana'ContortedHazel'isashrubwith amassoftwistedbranches.Itisagardencultivarthatwasdiscovered inanEnglishhedgerowinthemid1800s.Althoughthisversionofthe widelygrownCommonHazelnuthasbothmaleandfemaleflowers,it bearsnonuts,somustbepropagatedbycuttingsorgrafting. 4.TwoCamellias,althoughnotdeciduous,showtheirstructureby 2. thewaytheyarepruned.Thisstyle,whichoriginatedinJapan,is calledCloudPruningorNiwaki.ItisaJapanesemethodofpruning gardentreesandshrubsthatmakesthemappearlikegiantbonsai.In factNiwakimeansgardentree.Lookoutforotherexamplesoforiental styleinthesegardens(pruning,sculpture,patternsrakedingravel).
