Certification and Assessment
Classes
In compliance with the Louisville and
Jefferson County EPSC Ordinance, area
home builders, contractors, MSD inspectors, and certified plan reviewers are
required to attend training sessions to
receive certification in compliance with the
ordinance. Classes may also include a
required assessment. Certifications for all
classes are valid for three years from the
date of issue. Pre-registration is required.

MSD Certified Plan Reviewer/
Preparer EPSC Training-780003
This class explains the requirements of the
ordinance and how to use the design aids
prepared by MSD. Design aids allow the
plan reviewer/preparer to accurately design
EPSC measures that meet the 80% removal required by the ordinance. Licensed
professional engineers and landscape
architects are not required to take this

Home builders and inspectors work together under the EPSC Ordinance. This class
allows the home builder to understand
what the inspector is looking for and the
EPSC methods that need to be installed.
To receive EPSC Certification, participants

1. Visit our website at www.lifelonglearning4u.com and click on Courses. Visit the Online Courses section to
check out class descriptions and make your selection.
2. Follow the directions listed to register and pay for your class selection(s).
3. You will receive an email from Lifelong Learning directing you to www.ed2go.com/JCPS to complete your
enrollment. Once on the site, click the Courses link, choose the department and course title and select the
Enroll Now button. Click Already Made Payment and follow the steps to choose a password that will grant
you access to the classroom.
4. When your course starts, return to this site and click the Classroom link. To begin your studies, simply log on
with your email and the password you selected during enrollment.

Registration Deadline Information
Please register as soon as possible to ensure that the class has adequate enrollment to take place.
Keep in mind that many classes fill quickly. All classes that have sufficient registrations by the dates
indicated will continue to take enrollments up to the first day of the class.
Registration deadline is one week prior to class start date.
Early Bird Registration and other discounts cannot be used for MSD or online classes. JCPS Employee
discount cannot be used for MSD, online, Real Estate, or classes at non-JCPS locations.
Online Courses: Register for online courses up to the first day of class. Online courses
renew automatically every month. Call 485-6784 for more information.
Additional Information
Course Refunds: The Lifelong Learning staff reserves the right to cancel any class that does
not have sufficient enrollment to cover costs. If the Lifelong Learning staff cancels the class,
you will be contacted and given the choice of enrolling in another class, receiving a class
voucher, or receiving a refund. If you need to drop a class after the first meeting, we will enroll
you in another class of your choice or issue an electronic voucher for a class of your choice
within the next twelve months. If paying by MasterCard, Visa, or Discover, your refund will post
to your account within 2 to 5 business days. If paying by check or cash, allow 2 to 4 weeks for
the refund to be processed. Real Estate Principles course refund policy: If a student chooses
to discontinue anytime after attending the first class, the student will receive a prorated refund
based on the number of classes not attended less a $200 cancellation fee.
Textbook Refunds: All textbooks purchased from the Lifelong Learning program are final.
Textbooks are available the first night of class at each JCPS night center location. Students
should check with the instructor on the first night of class to ensure the textbook is required.
Many texts are also available at local and/or online bookstores.
Age Some adult education classes are appropriate for teens age 16 and older. Call to confirm specific class appropriateness. Lifelong Learning Senior classes are for students who are age 55+.
Class Cancellations: If JCPS schools are closed due to inclement weather, Lifelong Learning
class sessions at those locations are cancelled. Please tune to local radio and television channels for closing information or visit the JCPS home page at www.jefferson.k12.ky.us. If a class
or class session needs to be cancelled for any other reason, Lifelong Learning staff will attempt
to contact those students enrolled in the class using the phone number and email address provided. If a class session is cancelled due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond
our control, the class session will be made up the week following the last originally scheduled
date. If more than one class is cancelled due to inclement weather, Lifelong Learning staff will
contact students regarding course refunds or vouchers.
Seven Easy Ways to Register
1) Call 485-3500.
2) Visit www.lifelonglearning4u.com and register online.
3) Mail a separate registration form for each class. Mail the registration form with payment
(check made payable to JCPS Adult Education) to JCPS Adult Education, 546 South First
Street, Louisville, KY 40202.
4) Direct Billing can be done with authorization from your employer.
5) Fax a completed registration form with payment to 485-7501.
6) Walk in to the Adult Education office at 546 South First Street, between the hours of 8:00 am
– 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
7) Walk in to the Night Centers during their regularly scheduled nights of operation. Centers
are open from 5:00-8:00 pm. This option is available only for classes that have met their
minimum enrollment requirement. Walk-in registration is not taken at Jaeger or non-JCPS
locations.
