Meet your Friends
Garden of Life
In one of the very few moments I
seemed to have between shuttling my
children between church, school and
sporting events, I admired my
neighbor’s garden; the colorful blooms
that greeted everyone as they
approached her door, the cool shade
that welcomed the weary gardener,
the scent of lilacs on the breeze that
relaxed my busy mind. I complimented
her beautiful garden and lamented my
sad lack of one. “Right now,” she said,
giving me a big hug, “you’re growing children. Look how big they’ve grown!”
Gardens have served as metaphors for the many phases of life and the wide range of
emotions and personalities. Gardens remind you of all you can accomplish given time
and care.
At first people refuse to believe that a strange new thing can be done, then they
begin to hope it can be done, then they see it can be done — then it is done and all
the world wonders why it was not done centuries ago.
Teen Liaison Megan Brua grew up in
the Wayzata district and has been
coming to the Plymouth Library for as
long as she can remember.
She
became interested in becoming more
involved in the library and learning
what happens behind the scenes and
joined the board in February.
Megan is a Junior at Wayzata High
School and a member of the Dance
Team. Her favorite genres are mystery,
memoir and business and she is currently reading Capital in the TwentyIf you look it the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.
