Vol. 10, No.3 Northern New Jersey April 2011 Radio Promotion Created Awareness Bowling in North Jersey was given some additional exposure when eight BPANJ member centers participated in a promotion with WDHA Radio in January and February. A combination of recorded and live radio commercials, e-mail blasts, web site promotion, and other marketing tactics were used. Centers which floored Pinhead Leagues also enjoyed promotional appearances by a WDHA team. Groupon a Big Success for Centers and Customers Six BPANJ member centers enjoyed sales of over 800 Groupons in late January when the popular e-mail based coupon promotion occurred. Consumers were able to buy a two hour lane rental with up to five shoe rentals for $25. Purchases of the coupons were brisk and the centers benefited from increased revenue and customer traffic. 10 Immutable Laws of Customer Relationships The following is based on a conversation with the enthusiastic, enlightening and entertaining sales trainer Jerry Acuff, author of The Relationship Edge in Business “Selling at the highest level means building strong customer relationships which create ongoing sales opportunities. Your customer buys emotionally but defends logically. Your customer’s average attention span is short. Your customer wants you to show true interest. Your customer wants to teach you something. If you behave with these laws constantly in mind, your customers will work with you, buy from you, and give you great referrals. On the other hand, if you ignore any of these laws, you’re toast. Daily Deals set for April The following member centers are participating in a Daily Deals coupon promotion scheduled for April 29. •Garwood Lanes •Jersey Lanes •Majestic Lanes •Oakwood Lanes •Rockaway Lanes •Stelton Lanes •T-Bowl II Daily Deals is done through New Jersey Press/Gannet Media as a way to increase sales and reach new customers through a targeted e-mail.. The offer is one lane for two hours of bowling and shoe rentals for up to five people for $30. At the time the consumer purchases the coupon, they will select which bowling center they want to use the coupon. The coupon will be valid for six months and there will be a limit of one coupon per group per visit. The coupon is valid any time lanes are available. For each coupon that is sold the center receives $16.60. A check will be sent to each center. When the customer comes in for their visit they present the coupon and get the bowling and shoe rentals which they prepaid. Additional bowling, food and drink, etc. will be paid for by the customers during their visit.
