Just Imagine …
Cast Iron, a form of cookware developed over a millennia ago remains
as popular today as when it was used to prepare meals for the Pilgrims,
Lewis and Clark and President William McKinley in 1896, the year
Joseph Lodge began our foundry.
Many of the pieces of Cast Iron cookware made in the Lodge
Foundry over a century ago remain in use today (Lodge was
sustainable before it was cool!). And Cast Iron is one of only two
metals compatible with induction stovetops (How did those medieval
metallurgists know that?).

Lodge, the sole U.S. manufacturer of Cast Iron Cookware and the
oldest family-owned cookware company in the country, is based in
the tiny town of South Pittsburg, TN (Population 3,300).
With the introduction of supposedly new “green” cookware, Lodge is

Lodge has expanded our brand with two lines of enamel-coated
cast iron: the L Series, with vibrant colors, contemporary styling
and stainless steel handles; and Color, featuring gradated colors and
traditional design. Made to our exacting specifications in China, both
lines offer superior cooking performance; at considerably lower prices
than our French competitors.
Lodge Logic is
electrostatically
coated with
a proprietary
vegetable
oil, and
cured at high
temperatures to
allow the oil to
deeply penetrate
the surface of
the cast iron.
The L Series and Lodge Color, like our foundry seasoned cast iron,
have garnered praise from Cook’s Illustrated, Fine Cooking, Good
Housekeeping and many others.
Forever and Always, Remember that ….
In the Lodge Foundry, every half hour molten metal is tested to
ensure proper metal chemistry … and we don’t pour metal until it’s
perfect. A constant is the use of Lodge Cast Iron in our own kitchens
(always remember, honesty begins in the home).
The underside of optional iron covers are
designed with self-basting tips allowing
condensing liquid to fall onto food,
retaining vitamins and moisture.

Lodge Logic
The introduction of Logic (foundry seasoned cookware) placed Lodge Cast Iron at the

From colonial hearth fires to the campfires of Lewis and Clark, cast iron camp ovens fed the
colonists, helped tame the wilderness, and did their share in settling the American West. Cast iron
cookware has long been treasured as sought after heirlooms, so much so that, when Lewis and Clark
returned from their journey west, their trusted cast iron pots were among the few items making it
back to civilization.
Like whiskey and tall tales, Lodge Cast Iron improves with age. And, there are few companies who
can boast that products they made over 100 years ago remain in use today – and are still in high

An extra dash of style is added to our Patriot Red, Liberty Blue and Apple Green color
palette, with “L” shaped stainless steel handles on Dutch Oven lids, providing a generous

L-Series cookware can be used on all stovetops and in ovens, including induction, at
temperatures below 500°F. The cookware should not be used in the microwave, or on
outdoor grills/camp fires.

Things to know before cooking
Cast Iron
Before using your cookware wash and dry.
Before using your new foundry seasoned Lodge Cast Iron, rinse with hot water
and dry thoroughly.
The porcelain coating is very chip-resistant, but not chip-proof.
There’s no exposed cast iron, even the matte black surfaces are porcelain.
No seasoning required.
Use on any kitchen cooktop—even induction.
When using glass or ceramic cooktops always lift cookware to move. Particles can be
trapped between cooktop and cookware; dragging or scooting can cause scratching.
Bake or Broil in any conventional or convection oven. The porcelain coated cast
iron cookware and stainless steel handles are safe at any oven setting.
Do not use in microwaves.
Let’s Cook
Use for any cooking technique. Use to marinate and even refrigerate.
A light coat of vegetable oil is recommended for better cooking and easier cleaning.
When cooking stovetop use low to medium heat for best results.
Use nylon, silicone, or wood utensils. Metal utensils will scratch the glass surface.
Clean Up
Although Lodge enamel is dishwasher safe, hand washing in warm soapy water is
recommended to preserve original finish.
When cooking, use 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
fter cooking, clean cookware with hot water, using a non-metallic brush or

nylon scrubber. If necessary use mild soap. Harsh detergents should never be
used. Towel dry immediately.
While utensil is still warm, apply a very light coat of vegetable oil and wipe with
paper towel to restore shine and protect seasoned finish.
S tore in a cool, dry place. If your utensil has a lid, place a folded paper towel
between lid and utensil to allow air circulation.
NEVER wash in dishwasher. Never use in the microwave.
Stainless Steel
Handles are marine grade (304) stainless steel, for maximum durability.
o clean stainless steel handles, use a cloth with hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry

immediately to avoid water spots. Use nylon scrubbers if necessary. Do not use
steel wool.
I t is normal for high heat to cause discoloration. Some foods may cause spotting.
To clean use your favorite stainless steel cleaner.
Use and Care: Glass Covers
If you’ve really burned something, boil 2 cups of water and 1/4 cup of baking soda
in the cookware.

Knobs are oven safe up to 400° F.
If necessary use nylon scrapers and scrubbers. No metal.

Payment Terms and Credit: Terms
Seasoning—It Isn’t Salt and Pepper
“Seasoning” is a coat of vegetable oil baked onto the iron at a high temperature.
The resulting finish provides the easy release properties. The more you cook, the
better it gets.
You may experience some sticking with new cookware so use a little oil when cooking.
“Seasoning” is not a chemical non-stick coating.

references for credit review. Credit research may take as long as four to six weeks,

Cards accepted).
To Soap or Not to Soap
Lodge may change or cancel credit at its discretion and may request advance
payment at any time. Accounts inactive for a twelve-month period will
automatically be closed and subject to the above conditions before reestablishing the account.
Mild soapy water is fine, if you dry and oil immediately. If “no soap” is too scary, consider
that most cookware is 400°F in 4 minutes on medium heat. It’s sterile at 212°F.
Minimum Orders and Quantity: New account minimum opening order is $300.00
NET. Re-order minimum is $100.00 NET.
Rust!? Don’t Panic—It’s Not Broken
It’s really easy to fix. Scour the rust, rinse and dry, rub with a little vegetable oil.
All orders less than $100.00 NET will be subject to a $15.00 service charge
plus normal freight charges. All merchandise must be ordered in case pack
multiples. Any deviation from case pack quantity will be increased to case pack
and billed accordingly.

years or more. Chemical non-stick coatings cannot be repaired, limiting their lifespan.
