Course Description
Many practicing nephrologists find it difficult to keep up with advances in the field.
The literature is too vast, and it can be hard to assess the clinical significance of
what you read.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this course,
you will be able to:
1. Discuss the diagnosis and treatment
of electrolyte disorders, including
hyponatremia and hypernatremia.
2. Discuss the treatment strategy for
metabolic acidosis.
3. Describe optimal treatment options
for hypertension.
4. Outline new treatment
recommendations for glomerular
diseases.
5. Discuss how to appropriately manage
acute and chronic kidney diseases.
6. Develop strategies to screen,
prevent and treat long-term
complications of kidney
transplantation.
Presenters will also discuss well-recognized medical complications and
recommendations for optimal care. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the
latest best practices and enhance your clinical skills.
Multiple Educational Formats for
Optimal Learning
Course material will be presented in a distraction-free environment through
multimedia formats that include:
n Lectures
n Case-based workshops
n Interactive sessions with the Audience Response System, a learning tool that
lets you anonymously test your nephrology knowledge by answering questions
highlighting important diagnostic and therapeutic issues
n “Meet the Professor” sessions during scheduled lunchtimes, in which you can
interact with faculty in smaller groups to discuss challenging cases and ask
your pressing questions
n NEW: Sunrise sessions featuring keynote lectures
Why Should You Attend This Course?
