Hey, have you noticed the early Fall look of nature? It is so pretty to me. I guess it is the shadows caused by the change of the direction of the sunlight. Well, you may have not noticed it, and you may not care. I just think it’s great and reminds me of the beginning of a new school year. So how have you been? Good I hope. It’s just a great time of year. I guess I am just a Fall sort of person. Football and all that. Time what about it, how do we measure it, what do we do with it. All are questions we ask ourselves from time to time. We all have an answer to these thoughtful questions or at least we like to think we do. I know I have been known to believe that to be the case. Then earlier this week it came to me that the answer to this may in fact be simple. Time is best spent doing what makes us happy with who makes us happy which brings me to conclude that besides my family there are none whom I would rather be with. Now we come to you. Where do I fit in and I say look to my conclusion. You are part of my family. Thanks for all of your help and dedication. Until we meet again may your days be blessed. With a humble heart MAC MCMILLAN CHIEF RABBAN I hope to see you at one of these upcoming events. “Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little.” ~Edmund Burke God Bless Well it’s not long before the Fall Ceremonial. I know my friend Illustrious Sir David is looking forward to it. He is a well-known person in Franklin County. He and his family have been in business in Carrabelle for a long time. Good people. I don’t hear anyone talking about another fishing tournament. So many talked about the last one and how much fun it was. I just figured another one would be well on the way. Maybe soon? I want you to know we need to keep praying for our friend Noble James Mathis. Went to see him in the hospital and he wasn’t there. Hey, we love you James! May be looking for a lighter knot soon, start a fire in the fireplace. Sounds good and bad. Hope it’s not sooo cold. Brrrr. Hey you be good, pray for me, I’ll pray for you, our KIDS and our great country. October 2016 Shaddai Entertainment Marshall Smith 4 Clowns Doug Bastendorf Greetings all. Supporting Our Organizations Shriners Hospitals depends on national signature events like the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open to help raise awareness and funds to support its mission to provide lifechanging pediatric specialty care. During the event, several Shriners Hospitals for Children patients will be on hand to share their stories and participate in various ways. These patients are a powerful representation of the hope and healing provided by Shriners Hospitals for Children – we are proud of them, and thank them for their hard work and invaluable contribution to this event. In addition to supporting our health care system, this annual event is also very important to Shriners International, and provides countless opportunities for our Shriners to come together to participate in fun and fellowship, share their stories with the rest of the world, and raise interest to attract potential new members. Thank You for Being a Part of the Tradition We want to acknowledge and thank all our amazing volunteers, including many Shriners and their family members, for dedicating their time and energy to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open year after year. Shriners Hospitals Helps Spirit Halloween With New Tagline Looking for a new tagline to better capture the essence of their mission, Spirit of Children turned to the 134 children's hospitals they partner with for suggestions. Tara Paustian and Julie Fannin, members of the child life staff at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Tampa, provided the winning tagline that is now being used in Spirit Halloween’s promotional material. The winning tagline: "Spirit of Children provides a Prescription for Play...Touching the lives of hospitalized children in a fun, not so scary way." Congratulations to Tara and Julie for their winning creativity. Spirit Halloween Supports Shriners Hospitals for Children Halloween will be here before we know it. Terry and Lillian M. Terry. Noble Delano had one brother, William Benis Terry (deceased). At an early age Noble Delano was moved to Piedmont, Alabama with his family. He grew up and graduated from Piedmont High School. After numerous jobs, including one in Detroit, Michigan at the Plymouth plant, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in October 1953. After basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas in November 1953, he was stationed at F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming for training as a Supply Specialist, before going to Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California. In March, 1954 he was shipped to Tachikawa Air Force Base, Japan for what he thought would be three years, but things changed. At the port the Air Force decided Osan Air Force Base, Korea was in his future. Needless to say, he was not a “happy camper”, but he made the best of it. The best was yet to come. In November 1955 he was assigned to Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. Having turned 21 years of age in June, he was desiring to become a Mason. His brother, a Mason, had told Delano he would sign his Masonic petition when he became of age. A job change the following January, under a new boss, a Mason who wholeheartedly approved of Delano’s Masonic goals, provided the opportunity for a three-day pass to go home for the Apprentice Degree. He returned with the necessary letter to Parker Lodge for courtesy work. His boss prepared him for both the Fellowcraft and Master Mason Degrees. In July 1956 Delano Terry was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason by his brother, William Benis Terry. Things changed again when he met the “love of his life”, Myra N. Batson of Port St Joe, Florida. After a short romance they were married in September. Their marriage produced two beautiful daughters, Phyllis S. Boshae of Lincoln, Nebraska and Myra J. Brazell of Orlando, Florida, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. During his military career, Delano was stationed in Japan, Alaska, Georgia, Arkansas and Florida. After retirement from the USAF, he worked civil service until retirement in 1996. Noble Terry joined Hadji Shrine Temple in 1982 and was a member of the Hot Rod Unit. He became a Charter Member of Shaddai Shrine Temple in 1985. Since then he has been a member of the following units; Hot Rods, Director’s Staff, Boogie Boys, Sand Buggies and Shaddai Cruisers. As if this was not enough to keep him busy, Delano served as an Aide and Chief Aide for six Shaddai Potentates. With the assistance of Lady Myra, he worked on numerous potentate’s balls during the last thirty-one years. In July 2016 Noble Delano Terry had the distinct honor of being presented with his sixty-year Masonic pin and certificate by Callaway Lodge #369. Noble Delano Terry continues to serve Shriners International as well as his Blue Lodge.
