We are so proud that Jacki Dezelski, Executive Vice President at the Manatee Chamber, was honored with this award for her outstanding achievement and dedication to the industry. This is the first year that FACP has named a Chamber Professional of the Year as a complementary award to its annual Chamber Executive of the Year Award, which is announced each Fall. The prestigious Chamber Professional of the Year Award acknowledges a chamber professional who merits recognition for exemplary service. Among other requirements, the recipient must have been in the chamber industry for a minimum of three years and must be nominated by their President/CEO. Nominations must include an essay detailing the employee’s contribution in at least three of the following areas: Customer Service, Service Projects, Leadership, Mentoring, Self Improvement, Efficiency, Problem Solving and Teamwork. During the award presentation - which was a total surprise for Jacki as she sat in the audience - it was noted that “the face of the Manatee Chamber” is often what comes to mind for many members when her name is mentioned. Having served the Manatee Chamber’s members and our community for nearly two decades, Jacki epitomizes the servitude, leadership and team concept all Chamber professionals should strive towards. Because of her tireless efforts and exemplary leadership, the Manatee Chamber was again designated as a Five-Star Accredited Chamber by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce - an elite status achieved by only 1.2% of the 7,000 chambers in the country. “We are extremely fortunate to have Jacki as an integral part of the Manatee Chamber and even more important, a part of the community,” says Rae Dowling, Area Manager for FPL and Immediate Past Chair of the Manatee Chamber Board of Directors. “Jacki is a master at finding solutions that maximize the effectiveness and usefulness of the Chamber staff, volunteers and members.” “FACP is pleased to present the Inaugural Professional of the Year Award to Jacki Dezelski,” noted Tammy Bracewell, FACP Executive Director. “She exemplifies the true Chamber of Commerce professional – someone who is dedicated to the betterment of their Chamber, the community and its members,” added Bracewell. FACP is a statewide organization whose mission is “advancing excellence in chamber management” and whose vision is “enhancing Florida's business communities by cultivating successful chamber professionals.” 6 www.ManateeChamber.com Manatee Chamber of Commerce | June Current 2015 PLATINUM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT Conservative, Pragmatic and Proud of the Way We Do Business plan may include retirement planning, cash flow analysis, education funding, insurance, estate planning and more. Since our founding, Raymond James’ primary goal has been to meet the investment and financial planning needs of individuals. It was a novel approach back then, when most firms were focused on little more than selling stocks and mutual funds. And 50 years later, we’re proud that we continue leading the way. That commitment defines everything we do – and determines how we do it – from the time we devote to understanding our clients’ personal circumstances to the effort and skill we put into developing plans based on well-crafted solutions. Our goal has never been to be the biggest; it has always been to be the best. That objective is exemplified by our: • Focus on people, not product • Conservative approach • Independent spirit • Individualized solutions • Tools and strategies tailored to specific objectives • Technology that meets client needs Investments are a means to an end, whether the goal is a comfortable retirement, a grandchild’s education or a legacy for future generations. That means our approach is goal-based, not transaction-focused. Our objective is to establish a long-term relationship with you, understand what you hope to accomplish during your life and with your legacy, devise the appropriate goal focused solutions to meet those objectives, monitor results, and suggest and implement changes as needed. Our recommendations stem from a comprehensive assessment of your complete financial picture, including balancing your shorter-term requirements with your long-term goals and the amount and type of risk you can comfortably and appropriately assume. Advantages of working with Bruce: • You have the flexibility to chose between fee-based accounts: either discretionary or non-discretionary, or a traditional commission account. • You receive easy-to-read monthly statements and quarterly performance reports. • He W. On Friday, May 1, our volunteers gathered at 7:30 AM at Freedom Village Retirement Community for a breakfast orientation sponsored by Manatee Education Foundation. At 8:30, the volunteers headed to their fourth grade classes all over Manatee County where they spent an hour with a classroom full of future entrepreneurs and business owners. In all, we reached 2,600 students in 120 classrooms at 28 schools! The volunteers shared their business backgrounds and perspectives with the fourth graders. Students then thought about what business they would like to be in by drawing their own business cards. Dreams and ideas of the students ranged from astronauts to zoo keepers and many things in between. Without the help of our sponsor, Manatee Education Foundation, and the support of Tropicana, Freedom Village, and Palm Printing, this year’s program would not have been such a success. The Manatee Chamber of Commerce named its 2015 Champions of Healthcare at a gala awards breakfast on May 21. More than 300 people attended the awards event in Lakewood Ranch to honor 74 nominees, 22 finalists and nine award winners. "Once again this year, we received tremendous support for the Champions of Healthcare Awards," said Jacki Dezelski, Executive Vice President for the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. "These awards celebrate the important work so many people, programs, business and institutions are doing in Manatee County to support healthcare access and delivery, particularly work that is above and beyond anyone's 'day job.' The awards are designed to recognize impact, excellence and dedication. The Champions of Healthcare Awards has become a signature program and this year's program is a testament to the amazing work being done in our community. Added to that is what a great morning it is! We're usually moved to tears because of the generosity and service we hear about during the program." Plans are already underway for next year's program and it is not too early to begin thinking about nominating a deserving individual, organization, business or program for the awards. It's also not too early to secure your sponsorship for the 2016 Champions of Healthcare Awards. Please contact Jacki Dezelski at 941-748-4842, ext. 131.
