A Letter from the Board President and Executive Director Anis Nin wrote “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage”. The vision and courage in 1850 of seven Methodist women has helped Methodist Church Home for the Aged expand and meet the changing needs of its residents and the community we live in for more than 159 years. When we reflect back over the last year, we realize we have made great strides with much to be proud of. In June of 2008, the construction of our new State of the Art Rehabilitation and Wellness Center was completed. The Methodist Church Home now has a formalized short term rehabilitation program with 18 designated short term rehab beds on the 4th floor. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff, Methodist Church Home has received another perfect score on the survey from the Department of Health. We are proud of the tenure that so many of our employees have with the facility. Performing our jobs to the best of our ability each and every day has a positive impact on those we care for both in the facility as well as in the community. We are preparing for Phase I of our renovation project. The year 2010 will bring about significant changes to our infrastructure. We are working with a team of professionals that will help make these changes as quickly and efficiently as possible. Phase II will entail permanent changes to improve the ambience of the Home. As always, we will keep with the vision of the women who founded Methodist Church Home for a warm and home like environment. As we approach a new year, we are prepared to move forward with new ideas in anticipation of the rehabilitative and nursing needs of our population. Methodist Church Home for the Aged is proud of our past and excited about the future. Edward J. Brown, President Maria Perez Executive Director Past Presidents Mrs. Mary W. Mason 1851-1858 Mrs. R.H.
