Welcome to The Mountain Resort
Welcome to The Mountain Resort
It’s a bit of a contradiction. A resort and a mountain. On one hand, you’ve got heated swimming pools, braised lamb and bamboo
bed sheets. On the other hand, you’ve got this: a gigantic snow-covered rock. But there is an undeniable connection between a
wide-open groomer and the pint of beer at the end. A give and take. A harmony. It’s why we balanced the difficulty of the powdery
steeps with the ease of booking a massage at the spa. And while local farm-to-table ingredients make for great food, a few hours
out here make it even better. Welcome to Stowe. The Mountain Resort.

Equipment Rentals and Demos
On-Mountain Rentals
Stowe Toys Demo Centers
Rental equipment is conveniently located at both the Mansfield Base Lodge
and Spruce Camp Base Lodge. We rent alpine equipment (skis, boots and
poles); snowboard gear (boards, boots and bindings); and helmets. All equipment comes sized for men, women or children and uses the latest technology
to facilitate a faster learning curve. From snowboards to shaped skis to
helmets, everything is well maintained and regularly serviced, and our staff will
set you up with the right gear for your needs. You can rent any equipment for
an afternoon or a full day, and you’ll get free overnight equipment storage with
any multiday rental. Please visit stowe.com for a complete list of our rental
equipment, rates and hours.
At the Stowe Toys Demo Centers at the base of the FourRunner Quad and
at Spruce Camp Base Lodge, you’ll find cutting-edge equipment from brands
including Dynastar, Head, K2, Marker, Rossignol, Salomon, Völkl, Burton
Snowboards and Black Diamond Telemark. Try several skis, telemark skis or
snowboards in one day for one price. You can even call ahead to arrange for
your demo gear before you arrive. If you buy a pair of skis or a board as a
result of this demo program, we’ll deduct up to two days of demo fees from
the purchase price. Visit stowe.com for rates and hours.
Burton Learn to Ride Center at Spruce Camp
Become a member of the All-Access Program for unlimited access to the
best selection of equipment all season. Race in the morning, tele in the
afternoon. Or just choose the right equipment for each day’s conditions.
Learn more at stowe.com.
When you’re learning to snowboard, having the appropriate gear greatly
increases your rate of success. With the Learn to Ride Center, Burton and
Stowe have partnered to provide the best learning experience in the industry
by offering teaching methods and equipment tailored to each rider’s gender,
age and ability.
This semiprivate afternoon lesson is for children who are getting on skis or a
snowboard for the very first time. The two-hour session includes a beginner lift
ticket and maintains a student-teacher ratio of no more than 3:1. We recommend this option for 4- to 6-year-old skiers and 5- to 6-year-old snowboarders
looking for an introduction to the sport.
FULL-DAY CUBS CHILDCARE
Cubs Childcare offers fun-filled, full-day programs for children ages 1–3. Cubs
is a licensed childcare center staffed by trained caregivers who meet the
licensing requirements of the Vermont Department of Social and Rehabilitation
Services.
Visit stowe.com to see how you can save BIG by taking your lessons during
midweek nonpeak periods.
Enjoy extra attention and personal feedback when you join just two other students in this exclusive lesson for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.
Clinics are based on conditions and group requests—steeps, bumps, park and
pipe, or powder. Lift ticket required.
Private Lessons
For individualized instruction, a private lesson is the way to go. You choose the
skills you want to develop. You pick the coach and the terrain. You set the pace.
You can even create a private group lesson by inviting friends and family members to join you. Lift ticket required. Private adaptive lessons are also available.
We strongly recommend reservations for our popular programs. For more
information on all Ski and Snowboard School programs, visit stowe.com or call
800.253.4SKI (4754). A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to reservations, and a
deposit is required. All dates and rates are subject to change without notice. Ski
and Snowboard School programs do not include equipment.
Stowe Toys All-Access Program

ARTISANAL CUISINE
Spending a day on the slopes pretty much guarantees
whatever you eat will taste good. But that didn’t stop us from
teaming up with Chefs Collaborative and the Vermont Fresh
Network to bring you food made with locally grown artisanal

Food and Drink
Artisanal ingredients and chef-driven, seasonal dishes— at Stowe, eating isn’t just
something you do between activities, it’s one of the main attractions.
THE CLIFF HOUSE
As you’d expect, the Cliff House dining room is at
the top of the Mount Mansfield gondola and looks
out on a stunning panorama of the surrounding
alpine peaks. Not to be outdone by the view, Chef
Matthew Reeve serves award-winning American
cuisine with a rustic Vermont flair, using the freshest
seasonal and artisanal ingredients. On select
Saturdays, the restaurant hosts its famous Summit
Series—a gondola ride and six-course
candlelit dinner.

BASE
Much like The Mountain Resort, the town of Stowe is defined by contrast and variety. It’s full of historic Vermont charm.
Look down any street and you’ll see hand-painted wood signs jutting out from clapboard facades. An iconic church steeple
marks the town center. But beneath its quaint exterior, Stowe is bustling, modern and vibrant. The town is home to more
than 40 restaurants and bars spanning a number of cultures and cuisines. There are over 60 independently owned boutiques,
galleries and shops. You can stay at a cozy bed and breakfast or a full-service spa resort. Off-the-mountain winter activities
are abundant. As cliché as it sounds, there really is something for everyone. Which is why the village of Stowe is the perfect
complement to The Mountain Resort.

CLOSEST DESTINATION RESORT
While Stowe may be a little farther than some
mountains, it’s actually the Vermont destination
resort closest to an interstate highway and an
international airport, meaning less overall travel
time and more overall mountain time.

Getting Here
An Easy Trip
Stowe is an easy trip from just about anywhere. Located in north-central Vermont,
we’re only 40 minutes from Burlington International Airport, 15 minutes from
Interstate 89 and 15 minutes from the train station. Clear signs, light traffic, wellmaintained roads and breathtaking countryside make it a pleasant drive from the
airport or other locations in the Northeast. The route to Stowe is 90% state or
interstate highway — more than any other resort in the East.
From I-89, turn onto Route 100N and continue for 11 miles, until you reach the first
stop sign. This is the center of Stowe Village. Make a left at the stop sign onto
Route 108N, and follow this for approximately 6 miles. After about 5 3/4 miles, the
road will begin to rise steeply. As the road begins to level out, the Cross-Country
Touring Center will come up first on the left. The Inn at the Mountain, the Toll
House Conference Center and the Administration Building are located 1/4 mile
up Route 108N, on the left. Stowe Mountain Lodge is located just past the Spruce
Peak entrance, on the right. Spruce Camp Base Lodge is 1 1/2 miles farther up
Route 108N, on the right-hand side. The entrance for the Mount Mansfield and
Midway base lodges is 1/4 mile past that, on the left.
Stowe Mountain Road Shuttle
Stowe has been named one of the Top 10 “No Car Needed” Resorts in the world
by OnTheSnow.com, and it’s easy to see why. The complimentary Stowe Mountain
Road Shuttle runs all day between Stowe Village and the mountain: every 20–30
minutes between 6:40 am and 10:30 p.m, from late November through early April.
You’ll save on gas, you won’t have to worry about parking and you’ll be doing
something great for our environment.
Complimentary paratransit service is also available.
Visit stowe.com for the most up-to-date schedule.
Parking at The Mountain

The Stowe Triple A’s
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
You’ll be able to relax even more knowing Stowe
has dedicated 2,000 acres to wildlife preservation
and was the first resort to be named an Audubon
International Sustainable Community.
STOWE FACT
Three parking lots at Stowe offer you maximum choice and convenience. Park
at Mount Mansfield for easiest access to the FourRunner Quad, choose Midway
Lodge for the Gondola, or head over to Spruce Peak for family programs and
après-ski activities at Spruce Camp Base Lodge and Stowe Mountain Lodge. If
you plan to park at Spruce Peak, we recommend arriving early, as this is our busiest lot. Wherever you park, you can move easily between Mansfield and Spruce
Peak via a 90-second ride on the Over Easy Transfer Gondola.
It took thousands of years to create this environment, and we intend for it to
be around for thousands more. The Triple A’s are a credo created by the Stowe
Mountain Resort staff, but they apply to all who enjoy winter sports and
this mountain.
Attitude: Respect for yourself, others and our environment.
Awareness: Sensitivity to your immediate surroundings and to the needs of others.
Accountability: Taking ownership of your actions and taking personal responsibility for the continued preservation of Stowe’s unique qualities.
We wish to thank our Resort Partners.
