Benenden Hospital provides consultations, diagnosis and treatment services for a wide range of medical and surgical specialities. The ultra-clean, modern facility has rigorous infection control and treatment is provided by experienced consultants in a safe, secure, well-equipped environment. in March 2014, a planning application for a £45 million redevelopment of Benenden Hospital was approved by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. The redevelopment will result in a facility with only single bedrooms and en-suites and hence an in partnership increased privacy for patients across all areas of the hospital. There will be a new main entrance and drop off area with a car park adjacent and a relaxation area with class leading catering facilities. Also, there will be an expansion of physiotherapy, a new paediatric wellbeing centre with scanning and diagnostic imaging and considerable refurbishment of existing areas. The project is split over two phases and started in May 2015. Commissioning of the Smoke/Fire Dampers and Actionpac LNS System for Phase 1 was completed in April 2016 and the departments were opened in May 2016. Phase 2 is due for completion early 2017. Actionpac LNS 4 Damper Control and Monitoring systems. Overview An Actionpac LNS 4 damper control and monitoring system is providing progressive building evacuation by compartmentation in the event of a fire plus cold smoke clearance post fire. The system has the capacity to connect up to 8 off damper networks, 80 off inputs and 40 off outputs. There are 3 off cold smoke clearance override panels on the damper networks each with 4 off override switches interlocked via software such that only one override panel can be live at any one time. Quick and easy identification of which extract switch is to be operated for each zone is provided by a colour coded floor plan on each override panel. The control of supply and extract fans are via input/output devices residing on the damper networks which interface with the BMS system. The dampers are failsafe close, 230V Smoke/Shield PTC, with an initial design quantity of 230 off.
