Conquer All music video is an original composition written, arranged, and produced by CityKids’ young artists. The video combines drama and performance, allowing our young artists to showcase their writing, dramatic and performance art skills and talents. Conquer All addresses three prevalent themes impeding the success of young people today: • The false lure of the security of gang membership and the violence infused into this sense of belonging; • The prevalence of homelessness and burdens that youth tackle to survive through school and the streets, while seeking physically and emotionally safety; and • Body images and the pressure to visibly fit into a stereotype for acceptance into groups, friendship circles and mostly to have acceptance of oneself. When and Where: Canal Room 285 West Broadway New York, NY 10013 June 4, 2012 6:30pm-9pm Why: For the past 26 years, CityKids has served over 25,000 young people, while maintaining a three-year retention rate among participants.
